Hi guys! I am owning some .in domain names. As you know it is for India, some people says also it can be used as an acronym for industry. What do you think about the future of .in domains? I am thinking to buy new names which are in English and real generic words. And their estibot values are not bad. Will you buy if you find a good name with this extension? Or will it be known as a weak extension like .ws or .cc? I registered the domain names listed below and I believe that the ones I am thinking of buying are much better than these. boutiquehotel.in magma.in projection.in swallow.in electronicsignatures.in electronicsigns.in electronicsign.in msoffice.in acmilan.in asroma.in rega.in deta.in mesaj.in Thanks all for valuable opinions.
As anyone doesn't write anything during a week, I see that there is no future for .in domains. Does it mean I should find a better extension?
Domainers seam to prefer the .in extension but if you ask anyone from india they will tell you the residents of india are mostly familiar with the .co.in extension. .co.in extension is what gets the most traffic and is what I believe will sell for more. Swallow.in is probably your best one..not sure what you will get for them though.
Thanks for your replies. As I am from Turkey, it is too hard for me to learn that co.in is prefered more than .in extension so your replies are very helpful. To me, short extension is more familiar so I registered .in domains. I hope this will worth because .in registration is expensive when compared to com, net, org etc.
try to register all of the general words that you can, like business, corporate, finance, taxation, accounting, freelance, consulting, etc
Believe me most of the general words are taken for .in extension. Of course there should be some but it is not easy to find one. I was able to find just the ones listed below
I prefer .in than .co.in, i don't like 4 character tld's and I think the future will be good for .in's.
I think so Everybody tells me something about trademark problems for this domain but i have searched trademark sites and there is no trademark issues for "msoffice" or "ms office" words. Let's wait and see what will happen
.INs are almost garbage... they are available for around 20$. I purchased kinda 10 premium domain names last year.. listed them on SEDO too.. but who's interested? I ended up keeping just 2-3 domains & let others expire!
I wish I would not have the same experience like yours I am bit disappointed with your post but in Turkey there is a proverb "It´s the hope that keeps a poor man going."
i see scope for only top one word domain names, rest i doubt about valuations unless the domains have traffic and importance. number domains might do well depending on the number though.
I own TheNew [dot] In, which is a domain hack towards the statement that something is "The New In." I plan on developing it unless I receive a good offer for it. About the .IN extension, I think that it is pretty promising for domain hacks and the abbreviation for "industry," not for it's intended "India" use. I would probably put the .IN extension right below or above the .TV extension.
