I think you have got your answers from teo leged humanoides as well as King of da wackos but Latehorn just told me that these are aliens from underground of mars who click on ads. I know it sounds stupid but talking of latehorn......it could be anything <Ducks>
Wow did this thread go off topic fast and hard. If you were in any other line of business it would have been the first question asked. Who buys our products? Not who comes in the store but who are the people that buy things and generate revenue for our company. If I knew that woman were twice as likely to click ads I would being doing my damndest to draw increase that segment of my traffic. So who are the high clickers? Watching my wife surf I'd say women click anything even if it says "click here to get a virus and wreck your computer" but then again she is in a class all by herself I'm off to search for any research on that but if anyone else has some info to share....
Just received an email from Google Adsense support in response to one of my questions. The email said that Google Analytics may soon be integrated with Adsense. http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/11/tracking-adsense-clicks-with-google.html
even if i'm a (newbie) webmaster, i click ads sometimes (not mines, obviously), because i'm interested in the content i think the whole thing works. the main key imho is to blend the ads perfectly in your website.
why should someone care that there clicking an add, as long as the link is something there interested in they'll click it. We have webmaster hats on so we dont think like users. Were biased and thus automatically rule out clicking adds, users click lots of adds!!! (especially nicely designed adds )
I noticed just now that I received a negative reputation for this thread! Cannot understand why!! Probably some think that I am asking to click my ads! Oh my God, do they know English?
I find that visitors to our site who cannot find what they are looking for finally click onto an google ad. Hey who cares who clicks on them, the majority of the time the visitors who click on the ads are not going to buy from you anyway, so you may as well make some money from them somehow!
They aren't clicking on "ads", they are clicking "links". They don't think in terms of advertising, especially with text link ads. To them it's just another place to go.
The whole appeal of the sort of advertising Google uses is that when the ads work they way they were designed to work they display ads so complementary to your site content that the visitors to your site will want to click on your ads, because they are about the same general topic they came to your site for in the first place.
I feel, and this is my opinion mostly... that people who do not know what google ads are tend to click on them, in other words, the more they are integrated into the flow of your site the more people (visitors) will use them.
The billion/s of people with internet are all web design related? No most surfers dont have a flying f*** what adsense is. I look on them like dumb animals, they see a big 720x60 banner flashing at them they click it and earn few $xxx's a week.
I found same info in google's faq (integrated into the flow of your site ads attract more people). But on my site (which is dark blue and white) I have dark blue ads, and orange ads. Orange ads are being cliked very good, about same results as for "integrated" ads.
Would not agree with this statement. IMO visitors are clicking ads if information provided on web page is not satisfactory. Why would not programmers/webmasters/usual visitor click an ad if it provides more information on the topic they are interested in? So in regards to "who clicks the ads?" question I would answer "everybody"
