Great job again Rob, can't believe how this is working out for you. Still trying to build up my campaigns, but for finance related niches, I always have this fear of bidding too high, and blowing past my budget before conversions come in (or if they do). Then again, bidding too low won't get me any volume, so I don't have decent data to work with. Kinda like a double edged sword
That's one reason why finance is a hard niche to get profiting, you gots to have the money up front to do all your testing with your campaign and build off the ones that are working. A good way to figure out if the niche is profitable is it's eCPC.... Found a great post explaining eCPC...Why eCPC is King
Hi Rob fantastic thread, I am sure this thread is very inspirational for most of the DP community, Keep up the good work. vmwebhost
Hi again rob any tips for my landing page home-mortgagerefinanceloan.com I am seeing a hi bounce rate in Google analytics Lot of people seems to be looking for car refinancing and it could be the landing page as well. Thanks again Bill
My 2 cents: as for the landing page, the top pic is waaaay too big, pushing the form and copy too far down the page. If you're getting car refininancing off of ppc you need to re-adjust your keyword list...if you're getting natural traffic, you could always give an option fo rthe car refinance people.
I agree with the points parkaboy stated. The site also does not have a very professional look to it. Remember, these are people that already own a home and are likely established. They aren't Myspace kids willing to fill out anything you throw at them. Just compare Rob's site with http://home-mortgagerefinanceloan.com .... which one would you likely trust and take the time to fill out? You have about 3-secs to capture your visitors interest or they leave. First impressions are everything...
thanks for the updates made some changes now and tried to keep it simple, Will let you know if it works any better you can see the old site in google site:home-mortgagerefinanceloan.com Cached Thanks again
I want to join lendingtree but they have declined me, Please let me know how do i join? Any refferal link for this?
Nice work. You have really enlightened all by your straight forward talks. I liked your attitude of accepting the negative remarks and that is the key to improvement. Keep it up.
This has been one of the most eye opening threads on DP. I had given up on adwords because I lost and lost and lost. I think I am going to try again, start small and build.
They prefer established publishers who have a proven record of driving good traffic and sales. Rob even mentioned he couldn't get his own sister accepted into the lendingtree program.
Hello, Members. Seems like this thread is still holding it's weight. Thought I'd share a few more things. I've had to pause my yahoo campaigns for a few days, and my google campaigns have lost all traffic due to my idiotic mistake of accidently deleting my best performing ad. So right now I'm sorta dead in the water until the impressions ramp back up to where they were last week. I'm getting some poor quality traffic from toseeka.com. I emailed yahoo about it and I'm waiting a response. This happened to me last month and I had to pause my yahoo campaign for a week. When I turned it back on, traffic quality was good again. It's wierd, but my traffic will spike overnight and hit my daily limit of $200 around 2:00pm, then my campaigns stop running. It happened 2 days in a row (Mon & Tue). I checked my logs and found I was getting a surge from toseeka.com. Normally I wouldn't mind, but the traffic was not converting at all. Unlike google, in yahoo, you cannot exclude (as far as I know) individual sites from showing your ad. On that note, I want to share with you my exclude list on google. If you're in the mortgage refinance and home equity niche, you may want to consider adding these sites to your exclude list. 0interestcreditcards.org 123greetings.com 15yearfixedmortgagerate.net 1click.com 1rst-merchant-account.com 25.com 50webs.org aacne.net acne.com alternativemedicinenews.net amerilao.org angelfire.com answerstoday.com antipest.com anything.com apathyislethal.org arab-lebanese-saudi.com asynloving.blogspot.com automobiles.com badbreathexplained.com badcredit-saver.com bbiworld.com bestsyndication.com bestwebdiscounts.com big.com bitchsessions.net blogerslink.com blogspot.com blogstream.com blogtoplist.com brajeshwar.com buyerzone.com checkoutthehottest.com chessmaniac.com citibankbusinesscreditcards.com city-cards.info citybankcreditcards.info clear0.com clobo.com createforms.com credit-business.org credit-cards-offer.net creditapplications.com creditcard1024.info creditcardapplications.com creditcardsearch.com creditprovider.com curedhere.com debt-consolidation-usa.org dogpro.com domainsponsor.com doulike.com dumpahumor.com emoforum.net emoldandmildewremoval.com erewardscreditcards.com eskunkodors.com ewoss.info faster-results.com filtersspam.info financesmart.net financialproductsdirect.com freecreditcard.com freeroller.net freewebs.com global-resource.info growinglifestyle.com healthandhappylife.com hidcam.net how-do-i-stop-spam.net lazoom.com leaf-blowers.info lice-treatment-guide.com licepreventionnews.com lights.com linkstopsite.info litten.com looksearch.com lordalex.org lowapr-credit-cards.net magdahigh.com mail2web.com mastercards.com medical-research-studies.org michaelbluejay.com ml-implode.com mortgagexsites.com motvongtroi.com mowkcap.com multiplelistingdirectory.com myembarq.com myglobalsearch.com mysitespace.com myspace.com oneinvestment.co.uk online-specials.org onlinephim.net pythonxml.com quickbrowsersearch.com quickwars.com roachcontrol.info roachmotel.com savingsexpert.com searchcredit.com server.md skincareguide.org skinirritation.com stealthfinder.com sunandfun.ws thebabydepartment.com thebestwebportals.com thinktarget.com townhousedirectory.info treatment-cure-remedy.com vasa.com wealthygeek.com what-is-net.info whyrefinance.us wisegeek.com www-realitor.com yeah.com zoomtown.com I'm not saying any of these sites are good or bad, just based on my tracking, they did not convert for me. If your just catching up on this thread, see http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=3751514&postcount=150 for some details on how I compiled this list. Right now I'm up about $4000 net profit. I'll post screenshots and exact numbers end of month as usual. I'm a little miffed with google and yahoo right now, and only made $20 yesterday because of the low/no traffic. I don't expect to make anything until next week. Today I'm trying something new. I'm started a "site-targeted" campaign on zillow.com. I bid $10 per 1000 impressions, and $50 daily limit to start. I really have no idea if those numbers will be profitable or not, but I'll keep you all posted of my progress, tracking, and tweaks. Based on the placement report, I made more sales on days when I got clicks from zillow, so I thought I'd focus on them first.
Sorry I took so long to get back to you on this. There are a still few things I would change on the landing page. First of all, you picked the lending tree advanced form. If you look at the code, it has it's own <html> <head> and <body> tags. This is causing you all kinds of headaches I'm sure. The code you want to use is the lending tree "Advanced - Link White". It's the same form, just one you can easily insert into your existing page. I spent a few minutes and adjusted your landing page. lendingarea.com/temp.html (note: i'm gonna remove this page by end of Sept). Basically all I did was add some borders and switch the lending tree code to the "advanced - white". Much better, don't you think? Here's the code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd[/URL]"> <html xmlns="[URL]http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml[/URL]"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; Rob, this is probably one of THE most helpful threads on DP. Your willingness to share an actual campaign step-by-step and post all the results goes well beyond anything anyone (or guru) has ever done anywhere. I just have to say thanks once again for all the updates. Everyone that reads this entire thread should be giving him +rep points! ... if this thread isn't worthy of a rep then I have no idea what does.
Dude I cant believe you that did that for me; man thanks so much. You have shared so much great info that is worth thousands. If you need any thing let me know, I have my own servers anything from hosting to email , dns hosting virtual server hosting , you can use any of my servers for free. Hope your using rewards on your visa like air miles or something, also im sure you know you can add another site under your cj account say your sisters; and get different ID under lending tree for her. Talk to you guys soon ,wish you all luck.
No problem. It only took a few minutes. As for cj, I could put her site under my account and just give her the money for the sales. But I want to build up her account stats so she can apply herself later and get approved. It's a sound long term solution. About another month to go before her stats start showing. Right now it just shows "new". I have the search network running, but at $3 bid per click, not getting much traffic. I think at $6-8, it would generate enough traffic. Might have to try that next week. I'm still hesitant to shell out that much per click, despite my current success on the content network. On a positive note, just a few hours into my "site targeted" campaign and I've already made a sale! Costing me about $6 a click though But I got a starting point.
Are you even making any profit at $6 a click !?!??! Try this: http://www.zillow.com/ezads/GetStarted.htm I bet you will make more.
