I have notice one thing that whenever someone asks a question sort of "Can you get rich of affiliate marketing?" We all newbies get worked by experienced users. You hardly ever see good advice just a little flick "I make $xxx.xx a day" with signature link that is a affiliated link. Come on people we all learn here and I am all for making money and all. However, I would like to see some really help and good FAQs and schemes. I am rather new internet marketing, but it makes me frustrated whenever I search for answers and all I do is spent money and hit referrals for other people without gaining any experience for myself. Regards.
Well, I take exception to what you are saying here.....I just posted in two threads today the following..... In the Do AFFILIATE programs really make you rich thread (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=470532&page=2), I wrote: And, in the The best way to go about AFFILIATE MARKETING...? thread (http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=476934), I wrote: Not all "experienced users" are "working" the newbies. What is it that you want? The sad fact is most new affiliate marketers, no most affiliate marketers, are looking for that "easy road" or "magic answer". There are none! No one, not even the most experienced affiliate marketer, can answer a question like "Can you get rich of affiliate marketing?" with directions/advice on how to do this in one post. Like anything that makes you money, it takes knowledge, time, testing and experience. Rather than complaining about how the experienced users are not helping you, why don't you take the advice of those who ARE and do a little work on your own. Jim
you can get easily reach using affiliate marketing, but no one is going to teach you for free, or for 7 $ , 97 $ , etc.... Those who says you gotta work hard and stuff like that, most probably know nothing about affiliate marketing. For every problem, there is also a hard way solution and an easy way, you just have to find them. Good luck.
I doubt that. Looks like you are looking for that "magic bullet" too. Just speak with anyone who has gotten "rich", or made a heap of money in affiliate marketing. Jim
You really have to do a lot of trial & error. What works for one person won't necessarily work for another person. I've been doing this (full time) for 2.5 years and I'm still learning every day because it's always changing every day.... You have to really work at it you know... I think if you are just looking for the "magic bullet" that you aren't going to be very successful. If it looks too good to be true it probably is. Sure there may be some "get rich quick" things that actually work to some extent... but I really recommend going the hard work route. Build some (not a lot, but more than one) really quality websites in some profitable niches and go from there.
Quoted For Truth. I make my living with affiliate marketing (and I have for some time now) and it's definitely a lot of work. BUT I find it gets easier every day. What I like about the SEO approach that I am taking these days (I used to be a PPC only guy) is that my work actually begins to snowball and take on a bit of a life of it's own. But yes I work very hard. Yesterday I worked from 8 AM to 12 PM and took very little in the way of breaks. .. I don't do that every day (I got up today feeling very sick in fact and haven't worked nearly as hard) ... but yeah... If you are looking for a way to make a ton of money with no effort - affiliate marketing probably isn't going to work out for you.
I'm not really looking to get rich overnight...It seems to be very interesting topic...and I am not starving for money...the thing is I have hard time finding anything useful, and spend a lot of time digging in the wrong direction. I guess that is what frustrates me the most.
There is no way to make a lot of money doing nothing. Pardon me, there are couple of ways. First, inherit your money. Second, win a lottery. I understand that for everything in your life you have to work hard...I have been a business owner for past 6 years...and I understand hard work, 7 days a week from dust till dawn...The point I wanted to raise though was, not that I want to make easy money, but more that within all these info online major part of it is not very useful...and it is very hard to find a good advise.
there are many affiliate marketers. some of them 'super affiliates' who earn millions per year. so, its possible.
solvman, I think the problem with a forum like this one is that folks can be anonymous - good help only comes from the truly successful. The reason most of the posts here are so lame is because many of the posters are not as successful as they would like you to believe. Be very careful about who you listen to here.
Yes... Well most of the people who sell "internet marketing" info make most of their money... selling internet marketing info. I'm always a bit suspicious of advice from people who don't seem to do anything other than give advice. So in that way yes I agree with you, there's a lot of BS out there that you have to sift through. I've learned some valuable things along the way but it's always my own experience that actually pushes me forward. What kind of advice are you looking for? I mean I think you if you ask some specific questions you can get some specific answers... A guidebook from the very beginning to the end only really works if you are trying to do one thing in specific. Probably every successful affiliate marketer here has taken a different road to their success. My big thing is to find things that work and then do more of that. That may seem kind of obvious and it is... but the thing is 99% of the things I've tried haven't really worked - I've found a few things that work and I keep doing them. Anyway I'd be happy to answer some more specific questions if you have them... I'm not really in the business of selling eBooks or anything, in fact I don't have any of my own products. I make all of my money through affiliate marketing and adsense. I mention this to set myself apart from some of the other advice you get which is really just people trying to sell you their eBook or whatever it is they are hawking. I do have an affiliate marketing blog (and an old website that is really outdated and ugly - one of the first sites i made) but they are not big money makers or a big focus for me. I'd say I currently make less than 1% of my income from them. I only have them in my sig because I think linking to my "real sites" from here would be kind of dumb (for various reasons.) Plus my other sites aren't related to internet marketing at all so it wouldn't make sense to link to them from here. So why do I come to this forum if I'm not hawking stuff? I mostly come here for the Buy,Sell, Trade marketplace... but I occasionally I find another topic that interests me... I think being overly active in these sorts of forums is a bit of a mistake because really that time could probably be spent better... But I think staying a little connected to the ... whatever it is.... is a good idea. Hmm... I've rambled on there a bit. I am just trying to say that I can give some advice about what's worked for me if you are interested and have more specific questions to ask. Good Luck!
just dont give up, think for yourself, and try new things, and test, test, test. the newbie must try a new thing and juice it, combine it with other things and be his/her own business owner. good thread
I am not looking for nothing. I am already working. I know what to do , and i know how to do it. You will never get rich going for the hard work. Stop bullshitting. Everyone says you work hard and you will succeed. This is not true, it it was there would be plenty of millionaires around. I know people who work thier ass off 80 hours per week on IM and just make several hundred bucks. They do not work hard enough or what? I know people working just 4 hours per day and making 1000 + $ per day. They work harder? Success on the internet is NOT proportional to the work you do. If you want like this, then and get a job. There you will be paid for the hours spent. Do not work hard, just work smart. Everyone can work hard. Seriously, everyone can devote time to do affiliate marketing or write content, do seo, link building, etc... but they will never get rich. In the most cases they will just earn as a regular job. Internet marketing is different, much different.
Hi Nick, No BS here. Working hard includes studying, researching and learning of this "craft". I call it a craft because it is an art, trade, or occupation requiring special skill. Most people are not willing to do the work necessary to really learn it so they can really be good at it. Yes, I agree with you. I also know IM'ers that work their asses off and get no where. They try this and that...and everything that floats by. There is no focus or foundation to their efforts and they flounder for weeks, months or even years. It is not easy to do what you have to do to learn your craft and become proficient. It takes a lot of time and hard work to become competent in the strategies and techniques of IM...whichever avenue you take. Once you have mastered these strategies and techniques, there is always the task of staying "fresh" and on top of things. You can only get to "working smart" if you have done the hard work of learning and mastering your craft. No, internet marketing is not different. It comes easier to some, not the masses. Most IM'ers have to work hard to be successful. The BS comes when someone tells the masses it is easy. Jim
I definitely get what you are saying and you are right that hard work alone is not enough to make a lot of money online. You do also have to work smart... But part of working smart is working hard to find out what working smart is. That's why I said that it gets easier every day for me and my income climbs every month. I've learned a lot along the way and I've learned to work "smarter." Certainly once you get to a certain point you can start delegating many of your responsibilities to other people to take the workload off yourself and to leverage your time better. You are right that once you get to a certain point you can work a lot less hard and still have great success, I think it takes a lot of hard work to get to that point though (in most cases.)
Be careful, Pauline. There are millions of IM'ers out there that are just "trying things out" who are not making much of anything because they don't know what they are doing. Jim
