I am posting this here because I can't think of a better catergory.

Guys and Gals this is an easy one. Everyones opinion is of equal value.

If you went to a web site where homes were listed for sale or rent and there were 11 fields you could search with, what would you add or subtract from the following list?

Please keep in mind you can only have 11 total.

    Price :
    Style :
    Area :
    Suddivision :
    Square footage :
    Age :
    Bedrooms :
    Baths :
    Half Baths :
    Basement :
    Offered By: Agent or owner

Thanks a lot for your opinion.

The others are probably fine, but you can't delete square footage... :)

Don't delete that. This is the first thing the client will ask...

It depends on what type of area you are. If you're near the sea, you may want to add "sea views", or if you're in a touristic area and it's common that the properties have a pool there, you might as well want to add this option.

And also "terrace" might be interesting, or "air conditioning".

Here's my list, from a poor grad student's perspective (and I just got a new place, so I know what I look for):

    - Price
    - Neighborhood
    - Square footage
    - # Bedrooms
    - # Bathrooms
    - Attached/detached
    - Proximity to transit and grocery stores
    - Heating
    - Flooring (wood, carpet, tile, etc.)
    - Acreage
    - Garage

    Great responses. Much appreciated.

Square footage must stay. No matter how large it looks in the picture you still need something to compare it to.

I copied your posts to notepad for later review and will add the comments from another forum site to that list.

I should have made it clearer in the initial post that these are the searchable fileds only. There would be a generous text space for additional info. So here would be things you would use to include or exclude a property from consideration as you searched a database.
