Firstible sorry if it was somewhere, i believe it was many times I'm gathering a list of 3-5k free web directories, I know that there must be 5k or even more on the web. I have already about 1500, but that's not enought for me. If someone wants that list PM me, I'll send it to you. Can anyone please help me with gathering list, or maybe have bigger list then mine ?

I would appreciate it if you would send me a copy of your list. I have been working pretty hard on my own list of free general directories. I am actually working backwards. I am in the process of reducing the size of the list. I have reviewed all the directories that are PR3 or higher. Last night I have almost 1700 free general directories. I now have 1350. It is quite a job keeping up with all the changes.

Thanks Malcolm. Its pretty good right now but as soon as I let it slide for 2-3 months it gets crappy pretty fast.
Yes i agree and have been thinking off a way where i can have my own list going on Biz-Giant.com with the attention of "All directory owners" that can somehow let us know when they "Turn paid" or other releavant facts concerning thier directory as thats the biggest set back with any list... thx malcolm
In my experience, very few tell anyone when they go Paid. They try to soak up the "free" traffic as long as they can.
Not that it is a big list or lists, but I have been starting to create a list each week highlighting 30 free directories (this week it is actually 32). Many are newer, but some older just now offering free links and some have been free for some time, but I recently just stumbled on them. Yes that is a very strong list of free directories. From a guess I would say there are probably well over 5000 + free english directories out there. A lot turn paid if they are under the umbrella of a webmaster wanting to make money out of it - many stay free if it is a resource attached to the main informative site. It is a nightmare trying to keep up. I simply use an amazing semi-auto submission program in my sig - I have added directories up to 7000. I visit digital point and info.vilesilencer to add new ones weekly. I have two staff who submit full time every day. Any directory which is now not free gets deleted and any directory with a faulty script gets deleted. They may have been fine before and I may have got some of my links in but if there is an issue now they are out! I then grab any big list I can get - preferably english and add it over the top of my list - parse out duplicates and continue as usual I can and do expect to get 10,000 english free directories within months. The whole list will be available for free in my thread once I throw a few big lists on top and I have one run through to clean it up. If you want the list prior to the clean out or you want it early it is only available in the directory submitter format so if you want to help finance this project follow the link below. The program is worth it but I will also have my database sitting freehosted to thoses who can use it. I expect the project to get to a clean list of 10,000 within weeks - of course clean means about 10% bad.. sorry but thats the way this business is
