Checked my robots.txt today after noticing some strange things in the search results. My robots.txt had been changed to disallow all.

Not sure if its the webhost or if i've been hacked.

You left it in a vulnerable directory.

Well obviously it was in the webserver root directory where the robots.txt is always placed.

Also upgrade all your scripts that you run as any one of them could have been responsible for letting someone in.

what dose this mean. We all need to check if 777 is set back to 644. My host seams to set everything to 644 after I'm done working on a site.

shouldn't all the files be read only when accessed from the outside anyway?

I hope you've backed up all your files. Who know what else could be changed?
