Has anybody been turned off using paypal due to their fees?

I think using direct deposit with online banking is just as easy and no fees.

I don't mind paying a few $ in fees - I just add a few dollars onto whatever I'm selling.

Definitely worth paying the fees, i got scammed once (not a lot of money) but they got me my money back, if I'd have paid direct with online banking I would have had no chance.

I had someone break into my account once, steal all my money, and then make a transfer from my checking to my Paypal and steal all of that money. After hearing all the Paypal horror stories I was sure I was out $500+ that I'd never see again. I notified Paypal and they had fixed everything within 24 hours. This was a few years ago, and I'm not sure if it's typical. I also got the feeling that it was someone on their end who was duped into giving my account info to someone else (I never fall for those phishing emails), because they seemed overly-apologetic about the whole incident.
