I been hearing a lot of different answers from different people. I want ot hear what your guy's opinion on this is.
Reciprocal link exchange between websites with the same PR its the best way to keep your PR at the same value and will add more BL`s for your website.
Will reciprical links with a very relevant site but a higher page rank help you? And should I try for these?
google has started to become very sharp for link market. link exchange or buying. in my opinion, le may hurt your serp
Reciprocal links with relevant websites that receive traffic WILL help you. They will give you something much more important than PR - traffic
Reciprocal links do help SEO but don't overdo it. My newest website is rank 10 for a competitive search term (60,000 searches per month) after 1 month of being up with just reciprocal link from decent PR websites (PR2-4).
The thing to remember is that an inbound link will not hurt you. Some may be worth more than others but none will have a negative affect. In my opinion the question of whether or not the link is coming from a relevant site is more important than whether the link is one way or recip.
Unless you overdo it, Google has stated that you will be penalized if you do too many reciprocal links because it's the same idea as a link farm - creating unnatural SERPs through mass linking.
Agreed - you are correct, but if you are building only relevant links then this probably wouldnt become a problem I suppose it is difficult to generalize with topics like this
