With over 2k uniques/day I should be doing fine in collecting email addresses but I seem to fail due to my lack of experience in this area. What would be your suggestion to make my readers more interested in this service of mine? Thanks.
Man did you say 2000 uniques/day? And you are not collecting email addresses? You are lossing big time. But the good thing is that you have realised just that. Now this is what to do. Slap a squeeze page on your index page immediately. Let people sign on to your autoresponder (put a short form for that) before redirecting them to the info page. Give them a teaser on your squeeze page. Sure, not everyone will sign on, but some will. That is how you build your list and make money online. Can you tell the way you are getting the 2k daily. Is it worth collecting email addresses for all products I'm trying to promote. For instance if I 'm promoting a dating affiliate program, what can I promote next?
I was going to give some advice then I saw this post, and there wasn't really anything I could ad. maybe an exit popup saying that you will offer a free gift in exchange for their email?
Here is a question thats worth asking: Why do you want the emails? if you are promoting a dating affiliate program, and your getting lets say 1% conversion for conversations sake, and you add a squese page, your conversion could go up OR down (ive seen both), lets say it goes down to .5% your initial numbers could be in trouble. True enough, you will likely do better in the long run with the list, just so you can see the whole picture.. Try this on for size... create a page that has a mini survey, say asking for their first name, email and the answer to one question, perhaps, what is the one thing you want most in a mate. collect a thousand or 2 of those (btw, in the dating space, and search traffic, youre likely looking at 15 to 25% conversion into the list) anyways, in a week you have about 2000 answers to that question, sort through them and you will find there are about 5 that really come up over and over (happens every time) now, the good part, have 5 different autoresponder sets written, each customized for the "sub niches" youve now identified, your customers will feel a better connection with you (and spend more money) and YOU will know your market that much better. If it were me, i would then be looking to develop my own product at that point, because you will have built a better sales process then the site your sending affiliate traffic for. lastly, if your sending enough traffic to the merchant to get them to write you custom pages, or if you develop your own offer, you can write 5 different sales letters addressing the individual needs youve identified with your survey... I know, i know a long post, but I used this strategy to whip the pants off the "question mark guy" in the hyper competitive grant space and it worked like a charm Hope it helps Tom
squeeze page is the best option. You need to set one up that is quick and to the point. Make sure it displays the message and has a solution to the readers problem. I am just now starting to get traffic and every once and while I get a sign up. I am not getting 2k a day like you (congratz on that), but I am seeing a decent response for the squeeze page. Edit- Also...Incentives work quite well. Free E-book, 10 tips, free web-based software, mini course, etc. You will probabyl get some "freebie" hounds, but curisity will slowly make them a "legimate" subscriber....if that content is good that is.
Yes, if you can capture email addresses will be good... After promoting a dating affiliate program, you can promote an ebook marriage for example... or even how to please your partner in more ways than one.
Good content will always bring benefits. I can't say I didn't worked hard. 90% - 95% maybe . I'm getting 1k from google only/organic. My website is webmaster related and I'm preparing to launch a new website/service in the same niche but subscription based/paid so I was thinking to grab some emails and warm them up with 4-5 autoresponders teaching them the benefits of such a service and after that presenting them the real deal. My only problem is this squeeze page that you're talking about. I could use a good example... thanks.
Check out what your competitors are doing. Or Give away a useful ebook (remember to work on title of ebook because it is some thing by which visitor will make decision to give their email address in you hands.) Offer them a freebie in exchange for their email address. Then do a backend OTO when they sign up. This way, you can monetize the process while getting qualified sign-ups! See how I do it.
Ok...thank you all for contributing...here's what I'll do. My website is webmaster related and many of my articles end with downloadable content for users to use on their websites...I'll separate the usual uploads folder that was accessible by direct link and create a downloads section that will send the link via email only (they will have to enter an addy). Every package that I offer for free will have this gate (the download section).... What do you think? I think this will convert more than 30% since they all seem to download files.
It's probably not a good idea to send the download link by email, in case your email is blocked by their spam filter, then they wouldn't be able to get the downloads. What I usually do is to send them straight to the download link after they submit their emails. However, I will tell them if they verify their emails I will give them another bonus.

For Dating, you can send mails to any email address you find and conversion is also good bcoz majority of people like this subject and its the top earning industry of the world. But i am not getting the expected conversion as i m targeting Finance & Loan field.
1k visitors with 90% being new is quite good. You definitely neew to harness that in a list. Mini course seem to be pretty popular. Create 5 very informative parts and then upload them to your autoresponder. Offer a free minicourse about your topic and you should start seeing better conversions. People love free course. Be sure and attach a "Value of _____" tag to it. People love to get free stuff, especially when they think its worth something.
