Major clean-up has resulted in a useful Free Directory List at web-directories.ws

    It is quite a chore but I am updating our free directories list. In addition to removing any dead directories, I have gone through all the "PR4 and higher" free directories by hand and removed the inapropriate/paid ones. I have also made some additional comments on others that may not be worth your time.

    I will be doing the PR3 directories in the next day or two.

    The directory now has about 6500 listings. The general directory category has 1500 free and 1800 paid listings.

    If you own a directory have it added to the list. Either post it here or submit it on the site. All real directories that accept submissions will be added for free.


    P.S. I also have advertising available.

    can you explain to us please, what "Links do not pass PR" means?

    and FYI - AMRAY is an acronym

    OK, I have reviewed a good chunk of the free PR3 directories. I only have 300 to go. :eek:

    I have eliminated over 200 free directories. I can't get over the percentage of directories that switch to paid or get overwhelmed by the spam and give up.

    If I miss any please let me know. I always appreciate the help.:cool:

    It took longer than I thought but I have now cleaned up the PR3 directories. I have removed another 200 sites from the free directory list. So the free list is up-to-date from PR3 and up.


    I also did some work on the blog directory list.
