thinking about buying link

I am thinking about a buying a link on this pr6 site for 120 per year. The link should be relative to education. Anyone willing to review the site to make sure this is a good buy?

 

You might ought to hold off on this until after the next PR update. The PRs that are currently displayed are from last April and so are out of date. There are indications that Google is in the process of making some big changes in the way it determines PRs, and there is a possibility that a lot of sites could lose PR on the next update, which may not be far away.

 

good point. When google updates PR will it have a big difference in serp results after the update, or have the serp results been happening gradually all along?

 

The "PR updates" are actually only updates of the PUBLICLY-DIPLAYED Pageranks. The current real pageranks are updated internally by Google on a continuous basis, and this is part of the reason why SERPs are constantly changing even though the public PRs only change every few months.

 

so google updates backlinks continously? Is there such a thing as a backlink update?

 

Google says that it updates both backlinks and PR continuosly and uses this for its SERPs. But There are also PUBLIC UPDATES of both backlinks and PR, which occur periodically.

You need to get a Google Webmaster Tools account to see the best list of backlinks for your site.
