Hey Guys, I know a lot of you are against and don't like windows vista, but i happen to love it so replies like "ditch windows vista" arn't really necessary here. Anyways basically i have disabled some programs from starting up when windows starts using the "msconfig" tool. only problem is whenever i start windows i get a little message down by the clock in the task bar saying "some of your programs have failed to start up due to being disabled" this popup is REALLY annoying me now because it pops up every few hours. is there some way i can disable that from popping up all the time? your advice is appreciated.
Im on vista.( not at pressent) I get that pop up too. It's not really annoying its just the fact that it moans at you
I don't have Vista and never will (I never had XP on my computer also, only 2003 but anyways...) but you could try this... When the popup appears, open task manager and see what application is running that usually does not appear. Then try finding that application and rename the executable to something else. Do this only if you don't get a better advice, you may have to reinstall windows if it fails.
I'd imagine there must be a checkbox on that message or an option to not remind you again. At least there was for XP.
nah unfortunately not. at least with xp you could check a box for it to never appear again, but it doesnt give that function with vista. apart from that one thing, i really love vista
