    Hi there!
Not sure if this happend to anyone else (I assume so) but it happened to me that Perfumania.com didn't ever post my sale made in August 29th, 2007.
It shows many impressions, two clicks through but 0 (zero) sales.
I even know the invoice number, as the purchaser was my roomate. LOL. I know you may say i am not supposed to do that!
Well, if that's the case, Perfumania should at least take the time and explain me (They did not reply to my numerous emails!), or show the sale but amount it $0. (I would know why!)
Let's run here a list of bad CJ advertisers, so people can look at it before applying with them!
Also, did anyone get approved by VitaminShoppe? Not me! Ever. I tried 2-3 times. And i hardly get refused by anyone...

    very good question.
after first email i've sent, i decided to wait for the item to be shipped and for the credit card transaction to be reflected on the cc statement...
But no change in my CJ reports...
Item was shipped and received like a week ago.
I think Perfumania may be new to CJ and not all their links may be properly set up... i don't know....
But Thank you again for your question here!

i have placed few image-links of music and t-shirt related to the artist "Dilana"
at www.dilana-robichaux.com, i had 500+ clicks in last 2 weeks and no sale

where as in one of my other site www.mycocktailrecipe.com i placed related links from amazon which have much less clicks and traffic and made 5 sales, and strange fact is 2 of those 5 amazon items were music and among this 2 music one was album "wanderfool" of the artist Dilana in last 2 weeks.

i am new user of both (cj and amazon) and experimenting.

There's an entire forum on abestweb dedicated to calling out advertisers who don't track sales properly. It happens quite a bit. I stop promoting advertisers who aren't performing well on my sites...either their stores aren't converting or they're not tracking properly. Either way they're gone.

I just got approved for VitaminShoppe, after being denied the first time.

MrX, thanks for the good points! That's exacly why i started this topic here. Those advertisers should correct the problem if they want us to represent them and talk nice about them! :)
So I will keep an list here, and list is subject to change acording to the feedbacks we'll get here.

As far as I know, all the tracking of clicks and sales is done by CJ themselves. The advertisers have nothing to do with the tracking of sales. That's what CJ is there for. Advertiser platforms like CJ, Clickbank are there to ensure there wouldn't be any cheating like not paying for(hiding) your sale and frauds from publishers. Some of them offer some money just for (free) sign-ups. In such cases people simply affiliate with them and make their friends sign-up through their affiliate link. If the sign-ups are made from only a particular area CJ refuse to pay you as it count them as fraud sign-ups.

And to the question of "LOGIN" You can check how many clicks you got from your CJ account.

You can even affiliate with those companies from there websites (if they offer), without CJ. Some of the companies offer affiliate programs both through CJ (and like platforms) and on their own

Not true. Advertisers have to make certain changes to their sites to work with CJ (such as tracking pixels after orders, etc). When those changes are not implemented properly, a failure to track occurs.

I would hope that CJ (as well as other affiliate programs) have a very strong verification process in place before they allow the sites to appear in their advertiser list. I would also guess that they probably do continuous verifications. Just remember, if you are getting ripped off by an advertiser then CJ is also losing out. I'm sure they have thought of this long before we have and have processes in place to prevent this...

There were 5 reports of CJ merchants not tracking since May... not sure I'd call that fairly regularly. There was also a report of Perfumania tracking.

Have you contacted Perfumania? You should take not that Perfumania does batch transfers and does not use CJ pixels. This means that they store the information & then upload the transaction data at a later time. Are you sure they don't just take a while to upload the data? I know some smaller advertisers who use batches do not upload until after the returns period has passed.

Before you try to "blacklist" any advertiser, contact them. Companies do want to pay you commissions for your sales. If they didn't want to pay, affiliates would only drive one or two sales & then leave because of low commissions. Also, the affiliate generally managers have specific numbers that they have to hit (marketing goals), and CJ tracking is what tells them whether they hit their numbers or not. Nobody is intentionally screwing you.

I see that you're using CafePress ads - not all CafePress items are eligible for commissions (individual stores can opt-out). See http://help.cafepress.com/hc/s-7405...?sc=8&sf=101133&documentid=238657&action=view for more details on that. You might want to verify that the items you're linking to are eligible. Additionally, the prices may be higher than your visitors are willing to pay.

As for your music links, the link to the CD at Buy.com is a CD download - 2 songs, each for $0.99. I can see why people aren't buying that. The Shop.com CD costs $21.99, which is also a very high price-point that visitors aren't willing to pay - especially when Amazon has that same CD for under $8! (http://www.amazon.com/Wonderfool-Dilana-Smith/dp/B0002NB3PG).

Your visitors aren't stupid when it comes to pricing, which is probably why they're not buying through your links.

Could it be lost of tracking? I heard that the URL hiding is the root cause for unpaid sales.

Thank you all for the many and fonded opinions!

Perfumania remains on the black list for now due to the following:
    1. If they want to wait till after the return period, they should still show my sale but make it "extended". Many others do so and i don't have a problem with that.
    2. I contacted Perfumania several times and noone seems to have a clue. (CJ also recommaded me to talk to Perfumania before i do report a "no sale reflected".)

Someone mentioned it happened in the past. It's true that my links are with "hide url" & "nothing on mouse over" but that doen't create a problem for other advertisers.

I have 2 to 1 votes to keep the tread (so far). I will close it when you guys decide so.

Thank you for you time and the passion you put on this debate!
