I have good friendships, if they are that bad in need I will make it a gift. Banks and people you expect to be cold are good for loans, all lending with friends or family is good for is ruining the once good relationship.

Its a fact of life, money is the great corrupter, I've seen it turn good men into thieves or scammers. He probably did it because he wanted the money, its a universal cause.

I definitely would give him another chance. If he offer to pay you back than he wants the relationship or friendship back. People make mistakes and you know the saying money is the root of all evil. If money is not your main concern then take his offer for friendship. By the way, money is not evil its the love of money. The guy seems to know this so give him another chance. If it works out then you may have a friend for life.

I would only forgive him if he returned what he took in the first place and after that I wouldn't truly trust him for quite awhile.

I wouldn't really forgive him but act as if he is forgiven. As long as he gives me my money back its fine. If he doesn't give back my money, I'd hit the block button.

Hey dude , did you decide yet whether he is a scammer or not ?

You should hear him first and decide ... maybe he isn't a scammer and you will loose him for nothing

What would you lose by keeping in contact with him?

Keep in contact with him and theres a chance you will get your money back.
Stop contacting him and you'll never see that money again.

Unless your completely stupid and give him more money you can't really lose. Just because your talking to him again doesn't mean you have to TRUST him.

Dude he stole $500 dollars, isn't that enough?

Second he said he's going to pay it back. But still I didn't get anything!
So until now he's a scammer.

The dude is offering to send you the money back. Of course accept it, but don't lend them anymore money.

What id do is allow him to try and make the repayments, and pretend that your willing to forgive him. once you get all your money back say to him he screwed you over, and you want nothing more to do with him. block him and get on with your life knowing that even months have passed, yet you got your money back in the end.
