It doesn't matter. If your website gets backlinks (required for good rankings) your pages will be re-indexed anyway.

Are you talking about your sitemap or actually submitting to Google?
Either way, don't worry about it. Google will update your site when it crawls.
If you want to ensure that it does so accurately, submit an updated sitemap in Webmaster tools.
Submitting to search engines is not necessary and will not hurt either.

Just complete the basic needs in site according to the seo point of view like designing and programming. Then update it time to time for better visibality in SERP's.

It hardly matters, you keep optimising your website and keep updating the site with fresh content and get some backlinks going, bots will crawl and update it automatically, you dont need to submit again

Maybe google needs to crawl again. I dont know what submitting the sitemap does. Any ideas guys? Great news i just hit ALEXA for my site this morning thanks to your guys help! my site is in 6.5 million + haha moving up!

Most of the pages are updated once the googlebot crawls your website. If there are quality changes - he will not miss them.
So no, there's nothing wrong with submitting a badly optimized website.

first of all ... you normally dont need to submit your site to google and yahoo , because you can not do so .
in Yahoo it costs 299 usd a year for a review and google doesn't have a add url form ... they usually crawl links to your website from dmoz and websites likes this . :)

Yup! if you want to indexed your site, just put an inbound link and wait until SE crawls your page, so that you don't have to submit it.

Google will like the changes, just remember to change some of the content as well.

Dont sumbit twice, just wait to be re-indexed.
Read more about inbound links, just add a link in a website pointed to your webiste. But is important to be a quality link !

Actually, that's not true. If you go to the appropriate Google directory, there is a link to submit to DMOZ, which is basically the same thing. You can also submit for free to Yahoo, just don't hold your breath. But search engines and directories are different things and Google and Yahoo have both.

@seebeyond...if you are using sitemaps, I find it's a good idea to make a new one and resubmit it every time I make a major change to the site. This helps me keep track of crawling errors and I believe also makes it easier for the bot to crawl.

As far as inbound links...that's a whole forum. Time and/or money.

    Good luck!

I use a dynamic sitemap for optimum indexing. ;) I have PHP within the XML file and have htaccess execute the XML through PHP before sending to the browser, so my sitemap is generated dynamically. I then link to the sitemap from robots.txt and the spiders index my site at a great rate.
