I figured out that I could save word docs in word 93-2007 format so others could open/view them but it is frustrating that the default is docx..it wasnt that way with XP.
well im now using msn 7.5 since it wont let me use live, and yeah when my next adsense check comes im off to get a mac g5
yeah but he was using new word with vista..still that problem isnt the fault of the OS..but still..microsoft were idiots to do that
Only problem I have had with Vista is accesing the Task Manager. Its a little awkward switching the whole system to standby just to get it.
Thanks live-cms_com. nadalbg crtl+alt+del does work. It just performs more then the specific function of bringing up the task manager.
Runs slower, hangs up every now and then, Throws "internal error for internal errors" These are some of the problems I've had coz of Vista.. All Success, ~G
If anyone has problems getting drivers buy Driver Detective, I have got it and used it on loads of my families and friends PC's and it finds every driver almost instantly. As for myself, I either use Ubuntu Linux or Windows XP, I am going to buy a new machine soon - I was interested in a Macintosh although I need a Windows PC for my University course, for running Visual Basic etc, and I can't be bothered to have a dual boot or run WINE type programs. But if I ever get enough cash spare I'll buy a Mac as a seperate standalone machine and play around with it. I have to admit they do look a lot sexier than any other PC's I have seen before.
NONE. ive been using vista for 9 months now, and can honestly say ive never had a problem or an issue with it. it runs all of my software, games, graphic design software, it runs all of my hardware, printers, webcams, mics, bluetooth mouse and keyboard, scanners, ipod, sat nav, road angel, mobile fone and have NEVER had a problem with any of it. i would recommend vista to anybody!
@flash902007 you're actually the first person ive heard of whose never had any trouble with vista..what are the specs of the machine ur running?
That can't be true you have had to have some kind of problem...its a new OS there are always problems
Same here. I have been running it for six months and not one internal error or crash yet. And I have gotten multiple security updates as to programs and bugs that have tried to crash my computer but where stopped by Windows Defender. No other Anti virus has been installed yet.
As a business, we have incompatibility issues with it. There are a TON of hardware and software out there that doesn't work with it and this is costing time and money.
Ive had problems with my desktop icons. Everytime I restart or start my pc my icons are all over the place.
