    Hi there,

Can we say that SEO is a no. 1 method of promoting any kind of business on the internet.

    Best Regards

You can say anything you want, but you better be able to back up your claim if you're selling to clients.

What I tell potential clients that SEO provides a substantially better ROI than traditional forms of marketing and advertising, and that the benefits from SEO last far longer than a 30 second TV commercial or full page newspaper ad.

Not really. Used properly it will be a part of your advertising, marketing, and promotion campaign (it's a piece of the puzzle, not the whole thing). I'm not saying you won't see results if you ignore it, or exclude other forms of advertising, marketing and promotion, but that instead you should be using a balanced approach for maximum gain.

Depends. Some people have new ideas for their website, which makes it almost impossible to use SEO.

I've never really seen SEO as one discrete thing. As far as possible you make your site friendly to search engines, and maybe do a few link-building things that you wouldn't bother with otherwise to get in good odour with google. But a site exists for it's users. And you promote it in places you know they will be.

Certainly - never put all your eggs in one basket. If one approach fails, you still have other avenues of attack available to you that can still bring in what you want (in this case traffic, visitors, readers, customers, etc).

Not really, it totally depends upon what niche and geographic area you are targeting.
For example: If you are targeting webmaster related web then you must have to do strong SEO but if you are targeting a local market for a jewelry website you must have to work on other promotional ways.

One more thing, if you are investing 10k on SEO and you have better options to advertise your website then you can go that way.

I strongly believe it depends on your niche, Geo, Nature of your business.
