I agree... I think entrepreneurs are born rather than made. Some people have that instinctive drive to be their own boss and create wealth for themselves. While most people in our society are content with working a 9 to 5 for someone else.
What does that have to do with being an entrepreneur? Lots of "products of a very wealthy and influential family" don't go off to be business owners. I think the basic fault is with the question here. Anyone can be an entrepreneur born or made (most just won't last past their first year or so). The real question is "successful entrepreneurs - born or made?"
Entrepreneurs are made. Some who are born into poverty have strived and become one of the most successful businessmen in the world.
Being a "born" entrepreneur has absolutely nothing to do with how much money you're born into. It's about a certain personality type, drive, passion, etc. Many of the best entrepreneurs started with almost nothing, as you said, but it wasn't because they were "made." Otherwise, we wouldn't have billionaires with no education or a lot of practical experience. They had the drive to make something out of nothing; not necessarily a learned skill set.
Necessity is the mother of all entrepreneurs? For what it's worth (not much) I vote it's in the dna. You're either an artist or your not. Your musically talented or you are not. entrepreneur or no. I've heard some of the worst ideas ever spoken. It proves that all people are dreamers but some have better critical thinking skills than others. Therefore the ideas get more developed and have a better chance to succeed. That's in the DNA, specifically the brain. ofc, having money to start with wouldn't hurt.
That's not even close to what I said. My comment was in response to someone saying that people starting with nothing are essentially "made" entrepreneurs and not "born" entrepreneurs, and I was demonstrating why actually the opposite is true. I have no doubt that there are some made entrepreneurs out there who do well. But there's a reason the vast majority share certain character traits... there's definitely something you're born with that makes some people naturally independent, naturally driven, and natural leaders.
I agree that both are true. It's the same like those who are born to be athletic and are very good at it.
thats true, being successful is more essential then telling yourself the world as being en entrepreneur. its more about management skills and lot of experience.
Few are born while most of them are made that I believe, here is current example you might have noticed those are not born entrepreneur; http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=468223
for me, i had grow up in entrepreneur family. Therefore it all about mindset in my family, we believe that nothing is more comfortable rather than work for ourself. However, im keep running from being entrepreneur and have my own ambition. Now, im still can't grab my ambition and already in path of entrepreneur.
Completly untrue. Something just clicks in their mind one morning. Rule is JFDI Apologies for swear word Just fucking do it To hell with the consequences To hell with the planning to a cirtain degree Just achieve something today, but most importantly FINISH IT
I remember having that entrepreneurial "spirit" when I was very young. I grew up in a middle class environment, so while we were surely not rich, we weren't poor either. I started selling baseball cards, candy, and other assorted goods in the 3rd grade (earliest I can remember) and ever since then, I've been trying my hand at different approaches. Was I born with it? No, I don't think so anyway... I would be curious as to where I picked it up though. Why was I the one buying low and selling high, and my friends had absolutely no ambition to do the same? TV maybe? Saved by the bell? lol....
Most are born with it. look at people like alan sugar, donald trump, richard branson. all started businesses for themselves as soon as they left school. had nobody to guide them apart from their instincts. all are now multi million and multi billionaires.
Both. The ones who aren't born an entrepreneur can become an entrepreneur...or a circus clown...or a stock broker. People can be whoever they choose. It just comes down to WHAT people truly want.
