What budget would you say (from expierience) is enough to start on? Because, when I launch my website, I would like a lot of targetted traffic, and some of this traffic would be nice to recieve via Google's AdWords program. Would you even say Google AdWords is worth using at all? I appreciate all feedback. P.S. And does Google AdWords have any effect on your SERP positions?
Start with what you're comfortable losing. No point in blowing through a ton of $$$ while you figure out what works. Using AdWords has zero direct impact on the natural search results.
Well my niche will be in the webmaster field. But, I would like to rotate adverts to match different webmaster interests, e.g. coding, website promotion, ppc advertising...you have the idea. And I am glad to hear it doesn't affect SERP positioning .
I agree with guyfromchicago, def go with google. If you don't have an account yet pick up a voucher in the "vouchers" section of the buy sell trade part of this forum. that way your not really throwing away your own money. good luck!
It all depends what you are selling on the site. Adwords can really drain your income especially if you are promoting something which is widely available. If i was you Id spend my inital budget on articles and forum posters, this will bring natural traffic to your site and it will be recurring.
Oh trust me that is what I have already planned, and thanks for the advice incase I didn't, that would indeed, be a HUGE mistake. But I have never used PPC before, so I have no idea whether it is as resourceful as Google makes out. So would you say once my website is 'booming' shall we put it, I should then use AdWords to promote the website further? How much do you guys spend monthly and what sort of traffic margin does it bring? Thanks.
When you say enough, what do you want to accomplish what are you goals with adwords? You may want to look into MSN Search where their cost per click are lower and the traffic is still good. It may get you more for your money.
When I am saying enough, I generally mean, how much on average does each person spend on AdWords (approximatly) per month to get x amount of visitors. Bit of a stupid question really as it is almost like asking how long is a piece of string? .
That depends on a number of factors, some spend $1 a day, some people spend $1000 a day. It depends on what their objectives are.
I start out with a very small amount until I determine the realistic ROI for each campaign. Usually $5 a day max is a good starting place if you're targeting the long tail keywords, but it really depends on the niche + competition.
I have a budget anywhere from 10$ to $1,000 it totally depends on the niche. The best way is to start small and build up. you will eventual find the 'right' spot.
Simple advice but I can see how that would benifit me. So would you say I should start on whatever I can afford, let's say $30-50 and work my way up?
agreed this is a very difficult niche and i would assume you would need to spend a lot of money to be in the top rankings. You might have a better chance using Yahoo and MSN which will have less competition unfortunately it will come with less traffic as well. But just a thought
"How much do I need to spend to get a good car?" "How much do I need to budget for my holiday?" How much should I spend on advertising my kettle for sale?"
Hi - As the website is new. Your ideal strategy would be to divide the total marketing spend into 2-3 segment 1. SEO - Optimizing your website to rank higher, which will take some time.. 2. SEM - Running a Google Adwords to test spend b/w $100 - $200. in about 14 days. 3. Postings on relevant forums to generate daily traffic. Also, we would recommend to implement Google Analytics and Google conversion code on your website. Rgrds, PPC - CPC Ask how PPC works ?
