A Lowly Three Letter Dot Com with Traffic

Over the summer I bought a "cheap" three letter .com. I have it parked at Namedrive but it only makes a few pennies per month. It may get 300 or more unique visitors per month.

How would you monetize this thing? How would you monetize anything with "junk" traffic?

    Thanks!

Try another parking provider... DomainSponsor, Sedo, etc. Try and figure out what your users are looking for and target keywords accordingly.

get some hosting and put up a page which asks: "What were you looking for at XYZ.com?"
Then store all the responses and use them to decide how to monetize :D

    Use name codex's theory.

Collect the responses, build a site around it, and post it up.

Or just put a simple page and StatCounter to see where visitors are coming from exactly.

It's possible that a big part of the visitors are domainers looking for LLL names and they are used with parking pages and don't click.

Put a big search box on your page, record what is searched for and redirect to google or something

Is it 3 letters or 3 characters?. If it is 3-letters then I sure wouldn't park it. It either develop it or sell it for a big profit. 3-characters includes number(s).

It is 3 letters. I hope to add a search box within the next week and start collecting search requests. I'm betting that most of the visitors are 3 letter .com investors. Sigh.

if so, put up an semi-anonymous offer form. e.g. enter your email and an offer in USD. then show the offer history, 4500,5000,5500 e.t.c
