Will Ipod become a PDA?

As you know, Apple has released a new Ipod called Ipod Touch. Basically, it is a smaller Iphone without the phone capabilities. The great thing about this, or at least for me, its that it has Wifi. The question is, will Ipod evolve into a PDA? I know that the minute Steve Jobs presented this new Ipod, ideas for add-ons and applications appeared in developers mind. Maybe a text/spreadsheet application? Ipod Skype? Google Apps? Games? We will have to wait…

Would you buy the Ipod Touch too use it as a PDA?

I don't see what's the whole point of buying a PDA, if the phones today have a PDA inside. So why bother buy a phone and a PDA?

I saw iPod touch yesterday. I use my cellphone as a PDA along with a MP3 player. I like having an all in one that does everything.

yeah i rekon it will do. with the introduction of the iphone it pretty much has most features of a pda so its defo going that way, and i can see soon that you will be able to access the net wirelessly anywhere in the world, just like a mobile fone signal

I've got a phone, and a PDA. But I'd much rather just have one 'thing'.

What I want is a phone that runs WM6 and has WiFi and GPS. There's a few around, but they're all kinda dodgy or really expensive.

But I think they are worth that money.

I don't think so. I could buy a perfectly good Datsun 180B with the money it costs to buy a GPS/WiFi phone. :p

Anyway... back on topic - I don't think I'd ever buy an iPod/Apple PDA "do everything" device. I've got a couple of iPods and I baby them way too much to really enjoy them... but my phone and PDA are both totally (and lovingly) bashed around, I take them everywhere and am totally getting my moneys worth out of them.

Existing mobile phones like my ericsson P900 already doubles as my PDA so I don't need a stand alone PDA.

I'm waiting for the Ipod to become a toaster, then I'll be impressed.

    My iPod Touch is pre-ordered.

And it will definitely become a PDA for me. All the homebrew and apps are making the iPhone and iPod Touch more useful than any other gadget out there.

I love my palm Treo phone/pda combo but I wouldn't want to get a pda and a phone to carry around. Plus I don't want my mp3 player to do my PDA either. Phone/PDA work great together, MP3/PDA not so much.

It probably will because those are popular features.
