Question about Awstats in Cpanel & Other Web Statistics Stuff.

Discussion in 'HTML & Website Design' started by CU_Designs, Sep 8, 2007.

    Hi.

Are these Awstats accurate in CPANEL? And when I visit my own sites is it tallying up my visits in the stats?

What would be the thing to use online to track my unique visitors, bandwidth and all that great stuff that is logged by Awstats that doesn't track my visits to my own site?

Please let me know, I'd really appreciate it. :)

    Thanks.

I use both google analytics and awstats, and both seem to be good, although awstats seems to be more raw data and google more eye candy.

Awstats does count your visits along with the others, but it breaks down the traffic by IP so you should be able to calculate your part in their if you want to. I go through my sites sometimes but I feel that my visits/hits are such a low proportion to the total that it doesnt really matter.

you can also ignore or skip your host in awstats reports by setting awstats options in configuration file , see awstats documentation

Thanks for that info. But I haven't a clue what I'm looking at. haha. Is that something that only the Host can change? Because I don't see an option in Cpanel for me to change the awstats option. If someone can point it out exactly that would be superb. :)

I think this would be a great combination, to get more accurate analysis.

"CU-Designs" You might want to experiment with it. ATB
