    1. He is Matt - if you'd bothered to read the thread, you'd know that this was already verified by Shawn (DigitalPoint).

    2. It doesn't show that he doesn't have a clue. What it shows is that it's not a priority for him or for Google - they have more important things to do. If you asked me when am I next going to wash my car, I'd likely give you a very similar answer - it's not high on my priority list.

Ahh but who can confirm that Shawn is Shawn? :p

At the end of the day PR is vanity, SERPs is sanity!

I would rather say I will wash my car in two or even four days, but not more than a week; otherwise i have to say ... in a week or two. That's my point.

instead of selling inks based on PR number,

now you will have to disclose the traffic, hits, serp´s, to get those.
alexa rank is better for traffic monitoring in my opinion.

But more biased towards webmaster traffic which makes it unreliable for a true traffic measure, the only way to really measure a sites value is for everyone to give open public access to their stats

can someone give me a definition of paid links
    Directories that charge?
    Word clouds?
    Links on bottom?
links on righ tor left navigation?
I hear alot of rumbling about paid links will someone give me the skinny.

1 last question, if a directory is free when you submit then there is a price later does that qualify as a paid link?

yes the Page Rank is updated by google after every 3 months. But it again depends on backlinks. If website has good backlinks then only expect PR Update.

You probably should have started your own thread.

    At any rate.

Paid Links = when someone pays to have a text "backlink" back to their site from another
Directories that charge = Directories that charge a fee to be listed, usually a "review fee"
Word clouds = These are text links in a cloud form. I don't have an example to look at, but it's just a bunch of words together. Usually used in blogs. Most people do not consider these effective for link building.
Links on bottom = a link at the bottom, or footer, is just that, a link at the bottom of the page. Usually text links.
links on right tor left navigation = Just links on the right or left of a page. Usually text links.

if a directory is free when you submit then there is a price later does that qualify as a paid link? = Usually no fee at a later date. Usually if you are going to pay, you'd want to do so for BOTW or Yahoo Directory. Outside of that, it's probably not a good idea, since Google is coming down on these types of directories.
