There is also the issue that this war is slowly bankrupting us. No one wants to talk about the fact that Bush has spent more in this administration than all of the previous Presidents combined.

We can't afford to stay, rebuild and have the inevitable showdown with Iran. You want to see America knee capped, wait until we can't afford to send our troops what they need because the Fed can't print more money without creating hyperinflation or we basically become permanent debtors to other world powers like China.

It's one thing to not want to admit defeat, it's another thing to fight to the death. Is Iraq worth that? Isn't this the outcome the enemies of the US want?

Have you read all of your posts? j/k

Seriously though, it's only the 12th. Give the Nixon gang some time. I doubt they will disappoint. They've consistently been the front runners in the war of ignorance and rhetoric.

It's called sarcasm AGS. Learn it. Learn it well. Or else you'll end up misunderstanding everything I have ever said.

With that kind of selfish attitude we would have lost WW2 to the Nazis and Japan. If Americans would stop running the roads with suvs and turn down the thermostats that would be a great help in the war on terror and the trade deficit.

I hate these selfish guys like John Edwards living in a 28,000-square-foot mansion, driving a suv with a 500 dollar haircut that used 20 bottles of hairspray condemning our troops and the “global war on terror”

He was talking about the war itself "slowly bankrupting us"

    • It is quickly bankrupting us, and...
    • ...why did you call his comment 'selfish'?

    Q) Our "American SUV use" and "murdering Iraqis during a brutal occupation" are related how, exactly?

    A)
    • If the price of gas goes high enough, then less people will drive.
    • Iraqis don't want us in their country, and it's time to support the troops and bring them home.

WW2 cost a lot of money. 9/11 was like the attack on Pearl Harbor. So if I follow your logic, the Nazis didn't attack Pearl Harbor so we should have only fought Japan.

"American SUV use" and $3 gas is what is funding the isalmic terrorist and madrasas.

I hope one day Americans wake up.

I know sarcasm very well, I'm very good at it myself. :D

But I sometimes wonder about your posts here in P&R, whether you are serious or not.

    compare to your crime rate?
in new york city alone there are 7 murders every 100.000 people.
and the total population in new york city is 8,000,000.
so in a year there around 560 murders... in new york city alone.
    that stat from 2004-2005.

Only difference, THE CRIMES IN NEW YORK ARE NOT DONE IN THE NAME OF A SO-CALLED RELIGION.

Can you see the difference? Or no?

I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to find more.

Even still, what about the 99% of other Muslim countries that are the exact opposite of your country?

We are illegally invading a foreign country.

    • The people of Iraq want us to leave
    • We are training their 'army' to slaughter other Iraqis.
    • In general, the people who claim "we have to stay", are the same ones who used to say "the war will be easy and cheap."
    • Do you know how long the "hundred years war lasted?" :p

I don't believe that is what is being said.

We don't have the economy right now to engage in this sort of war. In WW2, we had an industrial base and manufacturing capability. Congress formally declared war, and the government had the means to go and fight it.

We've been in Iraq how long? How long did WWII last?

Follow the cost of oil per barrel. I think you will be surprised to know where the profits and taxes are going.

So the crime itself is no longer the issue, only the motivation behind it.

We all know you hate Muslims. You've admitted it.

But that doesn't change the fact that there are a lot of peaceful Muslims living all around the world, and this fanaticism you post about so often has a lot of other contributing factors, like poverty, lack of education, occupation etc.

You're a very smart man. Don't sell yourself short by engaging in blind hate. In our media, particularly in our media, many times you are only getting one half of the story.
