Hi, I have redesigned my blog www.minterest.com last month and started everything from scratch and I choose PowWeb for hosting but its having some problem.. I came to know that visitors from some places cant access my site so I need to change the hosting... How can I do that? I want to back up all my wordpress data to the new host without any trouble... Also, if I trasfer the host then should I upload everything again? That is upload theme, images, plugin e.t.c.. So which Web hosting do you suggest out from these Hostgator, StartLogic, iPower???
Even i am searching the good web host. I can help you for changing web hosting. you can download your datas from wordpress.
If you are using cpanel hosting , You have option to take complete backup and then ask you new host to restore it . Thanks Tulip
Hey you can host with OxyHosts.com We have really cheap and reliable plans and Cpanel 11. If your old host has Cpanel access we can move your sites to our hosting for free and its really FAST You wont even have to install wordpress again. We will setup the whole thing for you. Also if you have to install wordpress you can do it in a matter of 2 clicks using Fantastico !! PM me for more information
If some people cannot access your blog, then perhaps it is a DNS problem and you should just wait a couple of days? If you are looking for a good hosting, I can recommend BlueHost. Pretty satisfied.
DNS problem? Maybe you are right as my domain was not registered with powweb but i trasfered that domain to powweb.
^^ No in such cases DNS is not an issue. Maybe your nameservers have not propagated yet. Give it some time and it will resolve. Shifting of servers must be done professionally to avoid such downtimes
BUt the site is working for me and most people.. also i have asked that person to check another site hosted by powweb and it didnt worked... so it means that sites which is hosted by powweb is not working in that country or ISP then he told me that he visited the site by using a proxy....
When I first started out, I chose Powweb. What a mistake! I'm with Dreamhost, although not perfect, much more affordable and better to deal with.
How come you don't understnad what the DNS is? It stands for Domain Name Server. That's what 'R3Born' was talking about. I doubt how you resolve your customers' issues! Any way that's not my business. So I should keep quiet. DP members are smart enough to learn from these things.
