Does that essentially mean, someone signs up through my banner or whatever. And goes and places a bid? It would earn $25? Or do they have to win an item or what...

    Search ebay acru

    From their affiliate site.

"(a) registers for eBay for the first time; (b) confirms his or her registration with an eBay-supplied password sent by email; (c) then goes onto eBay and places a bid or uses BIN to purchase an item within 30 days of their original registration."

No they don't have to win

Im aware of what it says, the title is exactly what I was looking for was clarity. Because I don't see how they pay $25 just for a new registered user more or less to make a bid.

Granted they assume they user won't stop there.. but there's nothing to keep them from not going much further...

They pay $25 (not allways, the normal is $16), because every user who register at ebay has the possibility to spend 10x that at least, that's a proven fact.

I thought the "No they don't have to win" was clear enough.

Is in reference to saying, that's all I wanted was clarity.. it wasn't saying I don't understand you.

For the $25 commission, you've got to get a new registration and a bid to "confirm" the registration. It does seem like a high commission, but I'm sure eBay's people have worked out the stats to figure out that they come out ahead more often than not.

I'm somewhat active on eBay (about 100 positive ratings, 0 negatives), and I'm sure I've generated hundreds of dollars in revenue for eBay, even though I've never sold anything with them. When I bid on and win an item, the price is higher than if I wasn't there, so eBay makes probably on average $.10 to $1.00, depending on the item price and what would have been the next highest bid. The real money maker comes from the items I don't win. I probably bid on 10x as many items as I actually win. Let's say an item is at $50 with a few minutes left. I come in and put in a bid of $100. Ebay places the bid at $51, because it only goes up one increment over the current high bid. With a few seconds left I get sniped by one bidder who bids $101. If I had not been involved, the sniper wins the auction at $51. Instead, he pays $101. EBay collects fees on $50 more than it would have if I didn't bid.

I was always wonder how the active/confirmed user gets tracked.

You have 30 days after initial click to register and 30 days to become confirmed.

Does that mean in theory there could be 60 days between initial click and a $25 commission?

Or does everything have to happen within 30 days of the click.

Everything within 30 days. Clock basically starts when they register, and from that point when they buy something it's 30 days. Normally it's rare it takes that long for them to take action.

Keep in mind as well that ebay/CJ audits your account at certain levels to insure abuse of the system is not happening. :)
