Where to get investors for...

Hey guys,

I have this new website idea and I have half the money to make it. So I need another half to make it. I need about $900 right now.

Just wondering if you guys know of anywhere besides prosper or anyone on here, or a few people on here who are willing to invest a few hundred. I need to have proof that you actually plan on investing before I show you my idea, so just prove it to me somehow, I don't know how.

My biggest advice would be to try and fund the project yourself. I have a successful site now where I do most all the work and I splitting hte profit with someone who sits on their hands because they had a part in the beginning process. Even if it means writing articles until you have the money, I think it would be worth it. Especially if you honestly think it will be a success. Most investors will not invest in something high risk unless there is a high reward. Even prosper, despite their huge interest fees might be a better option.

 

Well, I'm basically looking for loans so I'd just pay them back and not have to continuously pay someone. Or a programmer that would be interested in being paid half now and half about a month after the site goes live or something like that.

When I saw this post I thought that you need a few hundred thousands investments.

Assuming that you have $900, probably you need a few hundred (less than $1000). I don't think that you need an investor. You need a friend who will give you a few hundred $$. Serious investors don't deal with sums less than $10,000.

 

Why not get a NDA made up and try find a few people on DP to invest $100-$300 each.

 

I wouldn't start getting other people involved if you only need $900 - especially if it involves splitting the earnings. Sell some of your stuff on ebay or sell your blood plasma or something. If you have any family members that could spare some money I would hit them up for a loan before anything else.

I'd be happy to loan you $900 at 10% a year, through Prosper. That is a very reasonable rate.

 

Does other nationalities accepted at prosper.com? Is this open for Asian people?

 

I don't think bank loans pay for website ideas.
