So you're really pissed off at "this guy" who appears to be trying to make you life (and your friends miserable). Did something happen that caused him to be pissed at you and take these actions, or are they just 'random acts of violence'? Don't mean to be offesive, the articles seem pretty good, but didnt' really show me anything "new", but probably would be helpful to newbies, though I'm not sure many newbies use Digg.
the SEO blog is only one of mine. Digg does have a "sports" news section and I had quite a few of my baseball articles heavily dugg. I also have a financial blog related to the economy, Forex Trading, Gold Prices and the stock market that were the main sites I was digging. Also, the Wordpress hacks and stuff I was submitting fell into the Internet categories. Nothing was useless. btw, thanks for the sphinn URL. I never had any intentions of getting on the first page and I object to your callous use of the term "useless information". How would you like to have your hard and well reseaerched articles called useless? Think before you speak please. You're telling me these current top stories on Digg are useful... Woman with "Right to Die" Tattoo May Be Out of Luck in Iowa White Stripes Cancels US Tour Due to Meg White's Anxiety Castlevania for XBOX 360? Half Naked Woman Tries to Steal a Fire Engine Wow, those really soundlike interesting articles, btw, as a White Stripes fan, I guess we all haven't heard that "usless" information on the forums for the last week, now have we???
I tried a digg exchange once a few months back and got IP banned. This was using an account that I had been using legit for over a year. I was kinda bummed.
My friend, there is nothing new on digg, 90% of the articles are regurgitation of AP news stories or other information found on CNET or SlashDot. I posted my articles and people who read them and liked them dugg them. I cater to my audience and there is no crime in people showing their appreciation. I've also had as many as 170 comments on some articles. As far as the person who has been attacking, he's a 24 year old kid who was busted for spamming on WebhostingTalk forums in 2002 and got shut down. His next venture was into the hyip and autosurf market (you know, ponzi schemes and pyramid schemes). We have been very vocal about avoiding his scams and as revenge he has hacked, attacked and pulled every childish measure possible to get revenge for being "outed". Honestly I was expecting some retalliation because Enom is dropping all his domains for the IP pointing issue. I didn't report him though, my dedicated server providers PEER1 were the ones who filed the complaint because I only lease the IP's from them.
Although the pages you are using for Digg exchanges may be useful, the methods you are using are the same as those used by people who are just trying to spam their useless MFA sites and other crap. Digg's crackdown might bring down some accounts that actually were beneficial to the Digg community, but that's the price they have to pay to get rid of spammers.
I just get banned, since I help my friend to digg his story. Do I do anything wrong to help my friend to digg?
Seems a ton of people got banned today.... As I said, anybody who was banned from, please PM me. I'll have a new site that will blow Digg away up in a few days on a PR4 domain I have that was a directory but I've given up it because of Google's stand on directories. If I have your PM I'll contact you all when it's ready.
Ok This is very interesting. I sign up few days ago, but i never used digg. so Today i thought lets put my site in digg today. So i put my site with 4 or 5 lines description. after 2 hours i got banned from Digg. I dont even know why i got banned? i did not cheat anything. i did not vote. i did not break any TOS. But why they disable my account? well i don't care as i don't use digg. but this is very strange!
Sorry, perhaps I should have clarfied what I meant by "new". In an abosulte sense we would say nothing is really "new" anymore. The trend I seem to have noted, is that the higger digged articles are 1st or close to 1st with information submitted to Digg. So if there are 50 sites about 'X', usually the first few submitted items get the most Diggs. Though in theory, I suppose it should be the quality of the article, I have noticed this does not seem to be the case, but this is just my opinion. [subjective] So yes, I can regurgitate something and submit it to Digg (I've done this myself), but the info is usually already there, and unless I have some sort of exciting 'twist' on it, or add more interesting news that wasn't there before, I don't get many diggs. IMHO He seems to be a very persuasive person if he convinces others (or maybe has friends at Digg), who take him seriously. Especially with the background you describe. Sounds like some bad Karma is being created and it looks like you are taking a higher road. I am confident it wil all come out in the wash eventually. Please feel free to PM me your Digg like 'clone' when it is ready, I look forward to signing-up. Also, if you do not get a response from Digg and decide you wish to continue trying to re-instate your account let me know, and I will see what I can do. I don't work for them or anything, but find this story rather interesting and will keep it in my mind in the future. [Oh BTW the digg 'wordpress hack' link on your baseball site fyi] And if it helps. Some of your articles are still in digg eg: http://digg.com/programming/Digg_Wordpress_Hack/who I am sorry for your troubles and wish you luck in the future.
@JPRuss, Thank you for the info, I added rep for you. I felt bad because the girl who goes by "Buffalo" here on DP also had her account banned. She was digging articles and leaving comments on *only* the good ones. I have been digging (no pun intended) about diggs site and noticed a lot of the employees, volunteers, etc all have articles with thousands of diggs. Well, anyway, my clone site will allow people to trade diggs, etc. I was actually enjoying trading diggs in the "freebies" section here and on the one thread I started I was amamzed that every single request was to an excellent article. I learned so many new things because of it. So essentially, maybe some people make friends by trading Diggs which essentially is a good thing IMHO. Very adult behaviour. Especially for somebody promoting a text link buying and selling scheme. I guess you don't read Matt Cutts blog.
No problem. Tks ! By the way, [for others]. I understand that Digg would not want people intentionaly trying to "cheat" the system by trying to artificially inflate stories. I am unsure, however, that a "Digg exchange" or "Digg Trade" would artifically inflate, I think it is somewhat of a grey area. For example If I put a "Digg This" link on my blog, I am inviting others to Digg my article but not with the intend of artifically trying to inflate my ranking, there is nothing "artificial" about it at all. If you like it please Digg it. A Digg exchange (properly implemented) could work the same way. Post the articles you like, and tell others, Hey if you like it Digg It. I would suggest 2 "hard and fast rules" though 1) Don't Digg things you don't like. This would cause your intend to be questionable. 2) Don't Digg things you don't intend to actually read. I know many people who "Digg and read later". I don't know that I agree with it but I understand why they do it. They also undigg it if they didn't like it afterwards. But again, if you just walk through the exchange and starting digging randomly without reading..then yes you may get banned because again it brings your intent into question. Voting is a VERY powerfull process (as is Marketing) please use wisely.
Oh, and my favorite part of Digg's TOS is: LOL. By reading this reply you agree that I may remove your existance in my memory for no reason at all.
my digg account got banned ages ago for digg exchange services, ive signed up under a different name now, but stay away from exchange services. if you use digg as amarketing tool, then do not do digg exchanges
It's a well known fact that Digg bans all accounts exchanging/purchasing Diggs. It's also well known that they patrol DP - and you're wondering why your account got suspended? Yeah, I laughed. Also, I promote that link because I got paid to do so. I don't care what Matt Cutts thinks. It pays the bills.
Bryce, go to your mother and cry. Its pathetic, you and everybody else understands that you have been "spamming" Digg. Dont say anything else.
