    I use Gather.com

I wrote a lens on it: www.squidoo.com/gatherdotcom on how I use it to promote my lenses.

Gather is easy to use, attractive and there's no minimum requirements as far as article length (or in Squidoo's case you need at least 4 modules for it to be published).

I'm very fond of Squidoo, Hubpages and Gather.

I've checked out a few others but they don't offer the flexibility or fun of those 3.

I'd really like to find a fourth one so I can publish my extra content when I've written an article and I have more than what should be used in a tightly targeted article. Or for writing a brief overview which I then link to a bigger article at one of the other sites.

43things works well, and gather.com is good too. However I've found that squidoo and hubpages are not providing the link juice they once were.

But on another note, depending on the niche hubpages and squidoo still provide reasonable traffic, if you nuture the pages.

    They both have their strengths.

I've done a comparison on the two. Handy if you're a Lensmaster looking to expand and wondering how Hubpages works: www.squidoo.com/squidoo_vs_hubpages

Why not use Wordpress.com? I see this is better than Squidoo.com and HubPages.com.

    Yes they do.

Squidoo and Hubpages don't have nofollow. Though I do believe if your "Hubscore" falls below a certain number that nofollow will apply to all your outbound links.

    No money.

You can't run Adsense ads at Wordpress.com. So I can't see how it's better.

However Wordpress the blogging application can be downloaded from wordpress.org and installed on your own webspace and you can insert Adsense.
