Is A Redirecting Link Ok?

I was wondering if it is ok to set up a link on my main page to redirect to an affliate link when using EzineArticles?

Example: instead of showing my affiliate link when mousing over it the link would show something like www.mysite.com/product.php and when click on it would automatically go on to the product page.

I think you should redirect the top level domain to your affiliate link if you are promoting through ezinearticles.
so, www. mysite .com should redirect to your affiliate link rather than
    www. mysite .com/product.php

What about Short/ Tiny URLs. They should work, right? Using a tiny URL to redirect the User without letting him know/ see.

I think ezinearticles wont allow tiny urls.
You should redirect your top level domain to your affiliate link

It seems a waste of a domain name -- and how does it improve article standards? crazy stuff!

    cheers.

    hello cocoMonkey,
I too agree that it may be a waste to purchase a domain name for each affiliate link.
Because most of the affiliates promote a number of affiliate links at the same time.
It may be OK if the domains are cheap.

There are a few ways to work around this. I have been using them but 2 & 3 are my favorites

    1. Buy a domain and do a domain forwarding to your affiliate site. Info domains are the cheapest.
    2. Use a subdomain to redirect to the affiliate site. Buy a generic domain like review.com, then create subdomain such as dayjobkiller.review.com.
    3. Use a free blog like blogger or wordpress. They do allow yoursite.blogspot.com

homebizbuilder -- are you 100% sure that subdomains are ok??

If they do not allow ww.domain.com/sub/

    Why would they allow ww.sub.domain.com???

I'll check the site now, but if your sure its ok -- that saves a lot of time and buying domains.

    Cheers.

They probably do it to cut down on affiliate links.

i never thought about making a subdomain, i always went with the /link.php or a new domain name. Is there a way to make each word press blog a subdomain?

You dont have to buy a new domain. Just use a service such as Short1.com. You paste your long affiliate url and they convert it to a short nicer looking link that is safe to use.

Don't use an affiliate link, simple!

Ok hold on, here's what I mean. Use whatever link you wish,
    like subdomains.site.com OR site.com/widget.htm

Even post a page up so it looks real.
They like everything EXCEPT affiliate links and redirect links.

    ... Once approved, change it!

The articles are approved manually, so once it's approved, change the code of the page your linking to so it becomes a redirect page.

That's how I do it anyway, I hope that helps

I have gotten away with mysite.com/redirect.html and from what I have seen on ezinearticles many other people have too. Also subdomains are definitely allowed.
