Best dedicated web hosting?

    I hope this is the right forum for this?

    I have posted previously about this and I'm ready to do a move now to a dedicated server for my site which seems to receive super high database queries ... can anyone advise on their own experience of dedicated server - where's affordable, and importantly has good service!!!? I'm fed up of poor web hosts... I see GoDaddy has affordable dedicated hosting BUT I've never hosted with them - just domain names.. so any feedback on that...

    Any advice mucho appreciated!!! Thanks

    Are you coming from shared environment or from VPS's? If your coming from shared, you might want to consider a VPS before moving to dedicated. My VPS 512 and 1024 plans might suit your needs but you have not provided enough information except that mysql is being hungry.

    VPS Plan 512
    * 512MB RAM
    * 50GB Hard Drive
    * 20 Mbps = 6000GB Bandwidth
    * $59 /month
    Order Now: http://clients.wdservers.com/order/?form_id=7

    VPS Plan 1024
    * 1024MB RAM
    * 100GB Hard Drive
    * 25 Mbps = 7500GB Bandwidth
    * $109 /month
    Order Now: http://clients.wdservers.com/order/?form_id=9

    I do offer dedicated servers and have never had a complaint so far from my clients. You have not specified a budget or what your looking for in hardware so I cannot recommend anything.

    If you have any questions on any of my plans or servers, don't hesitate to contact me.

    Are those VPS managed? I almost went from shared to VPS a few weeks ago, then found out they weren't managed, and I was on my own... When I looked into all the configuring I needed to do, I put it off...

    Everything depends on the level of support the hosting company is offering... and its always good to signup with some Mid level hosting companry rather then giants as the Small to Mid Level Hosting companies offers good support and personal care.

    tarponkeith: Yes, the VPS's are managed and I try to help as best I can even with issues as simple as setting up private nameservers. If you give me your login, I can do it for you if you don't know how.

    toocool: CPanel can be added for $10 more /month or I can install LXadmin for free which is a good CPanel alternative in my opinion.

    Thanks for all your feedback people! Truly appreciated.

    Thewird, I will check your packages out and have a think - yes Im coming from shared and VPS could be ok but I would like managed also.

    My bandwidth isn't super high but I seem to get ridiculous amounts of DB queries which keep hitting ceiling at the moment on my shared hosting so.....

    Thanks for all you feedback once again everyone

    I have used both serverbeach.com and theplanet.com and find both to be pretty darn good. serverbeach.com is more for smaller budget, but should be suffecient for most web hosting needs.

    I have found pacificrack.com to be the best one I have found so far. I have made the rounds from softlayer to layeredtech to theplanet. Pacificrack is by far the best provider I have been with.

    ServerBeach.com is surely the best dedicated host out there. I am with them for almost a year without a single issue.

    Rackspace.com and SoftLayer.com are good too.

    If you are looking for some cheaper non-managed dedicated host, then I would recommend LayeredTech and Cari.net

    I used both of them and found good.
