Ok, website newbie here and I've got a few questions on adsense I was hoping someone could help me with. First - My site just launched a few days ago, and my recent stats from statcounter for today is 3.8k uniques and 19k page loads. Does one page load = one impression? Second - I'm currently using only adsense right now, is there any other program I can use to complement it? I've heard that adsense is really strict about other programs being on the same page. How would I get paid by impressions? Third - If I can use other programs with adsense, does anyone have any good recommendations for advertiser programs? Fourth - Any other tips or advice would be great, thank you! The site is an anime site btw.
Yes, one page load = one impression. Well, you can't use ad companies that come in-breach of Adsense' terms. Third: Valueclick?
Third: There are tons of other programs to use with Adsense, Just to name a few: Kontera, Text-link-ads, affiliate programs, etc.
thanks for all the advice guys! I'll look into Kontera and ValueClick I've already applied for an affiliate to a toy/anime company so hopefully that'll bring in some more revenue Edit: Oh yeah 2 more questions: 1 - I'm getting an average CTR of 0.5%, is that too low? 2- Any adsense placement experts want to give me some advice? I'd rather not post my site so I'll pm it to you =) Thank you
Yeah. No kidding. You got almost 4,000 unique visitors after only a few days? We should be asking you questions.
USUALLY. However, it is USUALLY one pageload of a page that has adsense on it. If the person has javascript disabled, it's not counted as an impression. Also, there are three different ways you can display your impressions. By Page, by Ad Unit and by Individual Ad. Only the first way will the number of impressions be SIMILAR to the number of pageloads.
0.5% CTR is a bit low. normally people will got the average of 2-3% maybe you need to do some steak on your ads for the better CTR.
