xp needs to stay till atleast 2009 the amount of bugs it has wont be fixed for ages. As sumone said vista PWNS comps resources so it's crap for gamers but from what I have heard they have been working on vista versions that suk less resources.
If you decide to change your computer next year remember Vista comes preinstalled. You would run into problem if you were upgrading both times. Just be glad MS is not like Apple which released 3 new OS in 5 years. Plus upgraded to Intel which wiped out some people completely.
Of course it won't be. Dude sorry but you need to upgrade. Not even HP provides support for that thing.
I am a hardcore gamer as well and my vista runs half-life, counterstrike, WoW, etc without any problems on my laptop... There is nothing wrong with Vista, period. It's like XP with a face lift. Sure you need a good computer to have this OS, but if your PC can't handle it...isn't it time to upgrade your PC anyway? Not sure why everyone is latching on to XP when these exact discussions were going on when it was first released...
I will wait for until the hardware can follow the requirement of vista. So now, i will change into linux.
wow that sucks, right now I completly hate vista I am having way to many problems with it. I am definatly stayin with xp untill it expires
I think XP is the better OS than any other available at the moment. Thanks for sharing this news. But I would use XP as long as it is available. I would go for any other OS which might beat XP in future though . I don't know much about Vista. Can anyone tell me if it is a better choice?
I'm going to continue using XP, maybe after a service pack come out for Vista i will consider upgrading.
I agree with you. All my games work perfetly on Vista even ones that were released 4-5 years ago. And if it cannot run Vista will automatically check for an update that will fix the problem.
there will be always a reason to stay with xp. For me, I will not upgrade till I find problems with xp because turning to vista means a lost of a bit of more memory
