Without incentve, I don't think they will bite. I see you have a $150 referral contest going so if you send all the people to a different contest to win some RS gold.. something like: I send out mailling list with link to http://www.virtualpetlist.com/showthread.php?t=runescape contest and do it so that the people who register and post a response are entered into a drawing to win 1 million gold. Then I think people will come, register, and post at least one post. If they find other stuff thats interesting, they'll stay and post some more.

Solo mailing = only my offer is in the email/the email contains only my offer and nothing else. As opposed to a newsletter ad, wherein you have your own content in the mailer, and my ad is in there.
