Ads on my site how to automate them so there geared towards the viewers country?? I've got various sites , i'd like to place banner ads (sky tv , o2 etc) , the type that are for big companys etc , i was looking on www.imdb.com (internet movie database) and i noticed that when i visit there site , its plain to see that the ads are geared towards someone that is visiting from the country of which i'm in (u.k) So basically how would i place ads on my site , that if someone from america was viewing , they would see ads that are from american companys etc ? and if someone from the u.k was viewing the same page , they would see ads that are geared towards the u.k market and so on, as theres no point pushing U.K companys to american surfers and vicer versa Anyone know ? or can point me in the right direction.
Most contextual advertising services geotarget their ads based on the IP address of the visitor. I know AdSense certainly do this.
thanks for the reply , its more for the banner type adds as opposed to the text link type adsense ads , a bit like the banner ad at the top right of digital points page .
adsense may do it in house for their geo targeting, but some adverting companies use a 3rd party company to do it for them. i know adbrite uses a company. so,if your sites are big....
thanks for the feedback , i was hoping that if the viewer was in the uk , they could see adverts for sky tv , bt , o2 , etc (colourful banners not word ads such as ansene) and then similar types of ads for american / canandian etc type companys , adsense will be on there also , i understand that adsense ads will change based on the viewers location.
