I thought that site was a little lame.

Have you seen this site http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/xodp/ it has thousands of posts moderated by Netesq, an editor who was removed in mid 2000. It used to be the premier ODP haters site. It even spawned a spin off site called netesqsucks.com (now defunct). XODP is a great site. David Prenatt (Netesq) was the master of anti ODP rhetoric, he made Gworld look like an amateur. He is still quite prepared to crank on if asked. You guys should make yourself known to him, he would probably give you a few pointers.

Another interesting thing is that there are a number of post there from Jimbo Wales in the days before he founded Wikipedia. Perhaps in some small part it was instrumental in helping him create an editing model that avoided the worst of the sh*t fights that the ODP has always spawned.

That has to be the best post I've ever seen get clickety-clcked out of your keyboard. I applaud you for taking the time to write it out complete with links and names. It was an actual answer.

Kudos to you, and again thank you (and I am being serious).

Yeah, I've been tring for almost a year to get my main site (www.bangkokdiaries.com) listed. Sometimes I wonder if they have anyone over 14 working for them.

Rezo, nice idea for a site but your forum is completely overrun by viagra and porn spammers. You need to do some serious clean up.

I can see, Rezo, that your site has a huge amount of pornography links on it. Far more so than DMOZ.

Is that your point? That DMOZ's editing guidelines are less porn-friendly that your DMOZSucks site's guidelines?

If so, why is there a problem? You chose your guidelines; DMOZ chooses theirs.

Is it his? He said found it...

However, if there is porn, before it can be truly compared to DMOZ it has to be tested for quality. Most found in the ODP is pretty old stuff full of affiliate links. Is it the same on dmozsucks? (I'm not bothering to check, cuz I can smell the spam from here)
