Anyone know any good recommendations? What brand should i go for, and i want it to last long not cheap ones that don't work or break easily.

If someone knows about these stuff please reply here with some good content thank you guys!

looking for a good 500GB external HD - most likely usb so i can plug and drag files into it.

EDIT: this is basically to store my movies, and some files 2 lazy to burn.

As long as the case has decent cooling and USB2/firewire then it doesn't really matter. Just make sure the drive itself has decent specs. Have a look on eBay.

I'm a big fan of Seagate drives - I've got one in an old pc that's 10+ years old and still going strong. Had a couple of WDs fail on me, so I'm never buying them again.

Here's a pic of my 350gb Seagate, in a fancy blue light Philips case :)

I did catch the ad for it on the tv,I would expect Dixons to be doing the same deal.

I have been running a 120gig external drive on my laptop for 2 years now,its the hardrive out of my old pc with all my old files on it.
The empty box cost more than the drive but I needed the files...

eBay is your best friend. Just get a standard HDD with external case, should come bundled.
