I want to buy the new ipod touch via the internet, as I am from india and it won't be available in stores here. However no online shop ships to india. Can someone suggest a store or method to ship it to india? I will be very grateful.

It would be amazing if i can pay via paypal. I don't mind paying upto $20 extra.

This is exactly what you are looking for I think.

    Hope this helps.

    why forget about ebay?

1: you will get the cheapest price there if you buy only 1 piece - big plus
2: if you buy from a powerseller with let´s say 6-years membership and 20000+ feedback there is no need to worry about being ripped - big plus
3: most powersellers offer paypal payment with buyer protection up to 2000$ - next big plus
4: most powersellers offer those new high-end products before official released (preorder), so you will get it the fastest possible way - last plus

so i can´t find just a single contra against buying from ebay

maybe you wanna clear things up?

    thx

You should be careful buying an iPod online (especially the latest model, Touch). Why? you ask. Well, the wholesale market for iPods is prone to high fraud rates. Everyone wants an iPod, so people take advantage of this. List items way below the retail price, and sit back why people keep filling their pockets with huge amounts of cash. Good bye money! Now, although the seller may have "20,000 Feedback", the 'wholesaler' they are using for the latest iPods may not be legitimate. Apple are very strict about the distribution of their products and require huge buying power to purchase from them; I'm talking 100,000 units. The kind of money, the average eBay PowerSeller doesn't have to invest! If you plan to buy off eBay the item you will receive, will most likely be a 'Grey Import'. Which is fine... as in the iPod itself is the same, but it will have been distributed via channels which are not allowed.

Just be careful, for anyone who is able to - Buy from a well known retailer and always remember "If its too good to be true, it probably is".

    Its not at all.:(

$20 is about right, sent via a Courier insured for the full amount. One thing to consider would be any TAX you would have to pay on arrival at your country.

What you write can be possible of course. But the reseller with 20000+ feedback (let´s stay with this example) buys from the wholeseller who buys from apple in those units you mention above. as the wholeseller/dropshipper (who has the money) does of course not only sell to 1 person (powerseller) but to many more. So I don´t see there any problem. Those legit sellers don´t sell for much less then the cheapest retail price. And as said before: where is the problem when buying with PayPal from one of these powersellers? He won´t scam you and you always have the possibility of claiming a chargeback.

Of course it´s everyones decision: but I will definitely buy from ebay in the future too, also for those items.

Don't get me wrong, I buy and sell on eBay all the time. In no way was I saying that it is not safe to buy on eBay, nor was I saying that the seller mentioned is not legitimate. My comments were based on the iPod market in general.

Yes, a Distributor will buy from Apple and then sell to smaller retailers. However, the pricing these distributors give is just not suitable for eBay. Please take into account the over heads the eBay seller has to pay. Warehousing, Shipping, eBay/ PayPal fees, Taxes. Thats why many eBay sellers source their products from Asia, rather than the US (or where ever their based). This of course is not legal the majority of times, and is know as a 'Grey Import'.

What I said was a word of warning, because I know how hard it is to source Wholesale iPods at a price you can profit from on eBay. So its always a risk when buying them from eBay or any small retailer.
