After i submit a sitemap in google webmaster tools, my main page don't indexed in 9 days, before this it was indexed in every 3-4 days. But 2 minor pages was indexed.
I set crawl rate to Fast and also after verification remove metatag from main page. Can it be the reason?

    That's something I've noticed.

Also, I had a number of pages indexed in Google that I meant to delete from the server.

I now notice that every single page not listed in the sitemap has been de-indexed from G.

I'm not complaining, but worth noting.

I added my sitemap to webmaster tools and it works wonders for getting every single page included in the index.

I don't bother with sitemaps because you can get your website indexed using your DP sig

The index page or every single sub-page?

Submitting a sitemap helps me to get the sub-pages indexed in a timely fashion.

Read the guidelines. If you don't wish to have the metatags in your index page, than verify the site with the html file and leave it there, don't remove it.

Tho, i don't believe submitting the sitemap would slowdown the crawl rate of your site by the Googlebot. There must have been some changes (maybe you have lost a link from a site that was frequently crawled).

Google don't find html because my server returns 200 not 404. As for metatag can it harden indexing of keywords, description and etc?

I didn't use any sitemap for new Sites, just simply set oneway link from some website to boots it indexed
