It's been 8 months and there hasn't been 1 service pack. So where do you see "weeks" and "service packs over service packs"?
Service pack for Vista comes out around October/November according to Intel. http://www.internetnews.com/ent-news/article.php/3672811
Just as Seo Ranter I'll give it at least one year and another service pack (Sp2) It is also too expensive.
yes , btw i installed Vista , you can't belive how many problems during installation i had , and i have now bouth Vista and XP but i used Vista only for 30 minutes didnt like it at all and it is slower than XP so i woud recomend for you guys definitely wait for SP1or SP2
Vista is such a gimmick of an Operating System. Microsoft need to realise that they need to make products that are usable, backwards compatible & stable. But noo they decide to make products that are slow, and virus prone. This Service pack will probably create more problems than solve. If anybody's thinking of upgrading i'd suggest waiting out another year for 1 more service pack then at least you can be sure there won't be as many problems and compatibility with software you use would be there. Also you can save up and build a monster machine to run this resource hungry piece of **** operating system. Anywhoo Its all bout Apple I'm gunna get an Apple soon
I've skimmed this thread, does anyone know if there are any new features in Vista SP1 or if it's all just security and bug fixes?
The service pack will include all fixes that have already been released plus a few extra ones. There is the performance fixes as well as the compatibility fixes. So for the average user who has been doing updates it'll be about 50mb to download. If you download it without any updates previously probably 1gb (includes all languages as well)
I hope Microsoft gets it by now that we want and OS that does not hog up all our resources. We do that all by ourselves.
5 years? You kidding right. The way the technology is improving, 5 years will be more like 20 years or so. I remember I bought a P4 in 2002 and now its completely useless.
SP1 I can't believe it vista was already out about a few months ago Wonder what SP1 will bring to vista
All SP1 will bring to the end user is more requirements to be able to run it. It will now require 2gigs of memory and an HD-DVD or Blue ray player to run it.
ti be honest with you i have never had a problem with vista but with compatiability and hardware, but as with any software, upgrades are a must.
