Text-link-ads confusion.

I signed up for text-link-ads a few days ago, but I haven't applied for code yet because I find it confusing :) When adding a site, you have a field: "Ads to be displayed on: Single Page | Site Wide (Please note our advertisers prefer single page ads. ).

How many people have a one page site? I have seen people using them in forums, which obviously have more than one page. Have any of you had a problem using the "site wide" option?

Single page doesn't mean you should have a one page site.

It only means that you use your code on a single page.

(I have TLA on just one of my sites and am using the site-wide option. Never had any problems).

You need a Single Page website but a single page where you want to sell links.

Okay, I have taken that step, now I have to say how many ads I want displayed per page. What option do you normally choose (the default setting is 8). I wish they would make it easier for new users (something like adsense would be great :D).

Its totally upto you but its not good to have too many outgoing links. I restrict myself to 10.

    Thanks for your help :)

I hit submit to be confronted with:
How the devil do they know what traffic I get in two seconds?

I think that having signal page ads will bring you more money as if you sell all the ads in that page you can then start selling them on another popular page of your website. Just my thoughts.

Also you can have a site with 1 million pages and still choose the one page option. All one page option means is that you will choose the code so that the ads will only show up on one page of your site like the homepage or something. With a forums it's a little harder to do it so it shows on just one page, but if you know php, then all is required is an if statement or you could even make your own plugin for that forum or there may even be one already made that you can easily use and plugin your code.

As they were so quick to reject, I don't think I'll bother trying other sites. I'll stick to adsense ;)

Oh okay, I might try once more :p

It's really to do with PageRank - not so much traffic.
If you've got a PR4 (or higher) site then you're virtually guaranteed to get accepted regardless of your traffic.

I never understand that "site wide" or "single page" part either.
I mean you put the text links on the side bar right.
Its supposed to be a paid link on "featured" sites..of course its site wide...
