Selling Arcade Site ($100+ daily)

Discussion in 'Sites' started by KDAL2007, Sep 7, 2007.

I'm thinking of selling www.ArcadeSlayer.com. When I was running this site 110% it was taking up about 2 hours a day of my time, and 4-5 more hours a day of me playing the darn games on the site.

Revenue since January 1st is over $33,000.00 total.
    Advertising Cost $14,500.00 total
    Average CPM for Advertising $0.20-$0.30
Visitors were up to 8,000+ UNIQUE DAILY in March, this was when I did a big push in advertising.

Why am I selling such a money maker of a website!? My father passed away several months ago, and because of this I had to use my "investment money" to pay for funeral expenses, and hospital expenses, etc... Very expensive! I was never able to recover. Recently I had dental work done and it hit me hard as well, and now my credit card company is refusing my "free interest for 18 months" So I need to pay it off ASAP.

Servers never crashed and held up very well. Hosting is $100 a year.

Two other domains that come with the sale include:
    www.igame247.com
    www.pwnarcade.com

All running paid versions of GameSiteScript. I also own www.igame365.com, it is for sale as well, it uses a cooler newer template/theme, but didn't make the same revenue as ArcadeSlayer.com

Also each site includes over 1,300 games. Most of them the same. I'm not even promoting the site right now and there are 23 visitors.

When advertising is in place (I can put you in direct touch with my advertisers who work fantastic deals for me), you'll be able to spend approx 30% on advertising. If you want to make $10,000/mo it'll cost around $3,000 to $3,500 in advertising. No Google Adwords crap. It'll be advertising on massive arcade sites.

All 3 domains, when linked together, act as baiters where if you click on a banner ad it'll take you to another site you own, with your ads. Meaning if someone didn't click an ad before, they probably will now.

I was using Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network. Adsense will make about 10-15% less then YPN, but still, darn good revenue.

    Here are stats and revenue!

Not sure on what I want to sell it for. Please leave a serious price!

I've been a member of DP for a while now, but do not post much, simply come here to read what people are argueing about for the day, lol.

    Thanks everyone!

No, YPN still works. I actually have 2 active YPN accounts.

If you do not act stupid with YPN, they will not ban your account. I've missed all the huge bannings. I didn't act stupid and force ads on the sites that shouldn't of been on there. Dont break the rules, and you'll be fine. They make the rules, we gotta follow. I did use Geo-targetting (to run Adsense and YPN at once for international (Canada/USA mainly) ads, and they got mad about that and warned me. But at the end of the day, I'm still an active YPN member! :)

Oh and I'm the original owner and started the site in November/2006.

Why the decline in traffic? Like I said, my father passed away. $1,200 for the ambulance, $7,000 for the funeral home, and $16,000 for the buriel.

From Nov/Mar I was taking my small investment money, reusing it into the site and had built up a fairly large investment pool. After my father passed away, as soon as my investment money was freed up I had to use it for those expenses :)

Now I have a $5,400 dental bill on my tab, bah! No health insurance sucks.

So that explains the decline in revenue and traffic.

    Read the orig post again.

As for the BID/BIN - No idea, what do you think is reasonable?

Looks like a great site, can you pm me at least a range I hate making offers without knowing what you expect to get. Is this a "must sell to highest offer" no reserve type auction?

    Thanks

Odd, Google ads should be running. I've setup YPN to show only to USA and Google Adsense to only outside of USA.

If anyone is serious I'll go dig into the site and make sure everything works.

Been offered $1,250.00 so far for all 3 sites.

iGame247 seems to have a problem.

I am surprised that Google isn't dinging you for the way you have those ads placed against their Tos Images beside the ads is usually no go.

Who has offered $1250? I am interested but yes just looking at the sites.... the traffic seems to only pickup when you pay for advertising which is fair enough but I could build an arcade from scratch like that and spend money on advertising and send a lot of traffic to it and it would cost me nothing.

I guess my question is why would I want to spent $1000+ on yours when I can just do that?

You're breaking AdSense program policy by having images next to the ad block.

Yep, how do you think a majority of the people get banned by Adsense and YPN? YPN warned me about images next to text, and I ripped down all the images next to text on the arcade sites they warned me about. Never received one complaint or warning from Adsense.

So far I have a quote of $2,000.00 even.

I'll give it to the end of the weekend.

Anyone wants to ask me any questions feel free to AIM me at: mtbad311.

    Thanks guys!

Do NOT forget that you'll need to promote this site to earn the $100+/daily!

I pretty much started off with $250 over a period of a few weeks, and once I received my first check (paid via direct deposit) I would reinvest all of that money, after about 2 months or so I had built up a decent investment pool and put in all my funds for cheaper advertising rates = even more profit.

Note that you'll want to focus on USA advertising only. International doesn't pay well at all!

Your taking offers of 3k and this site has made more 33k in 9 months? Something smells fishy. Can you send me the details of the site. Thanks.

The problem is that there's no current revenue, you have to advertise it to earn money.
