Ok, Tell me please... Lets say, that I want to be 1st in SERP for 1 keyword I chose. I want be first in international google, because my site will be no-english. The competition should be hard (bookmakers...) but top5 have only about 90 links PR0-4, few PR5 and 2-3 PR6. All with many outbounded links. 90% anhnor texts in this backlinks are the Keyword I want to be 1st in SERP. So, if I will get, lets say, 3 PR6 baclinks and 1PR7 backlink (with no more then 30 outbounded links) + some directories, I will reach 1st position in SERP for this 1 keyword? My site have few pages and its very SEO friendly. And, should I buy old domain for this, or I should buy some old, 0.5-1 year domain? I want to reach this 1st position as fast as possible... Remember, that my site is in foregin language, but Im saying here about links from english sites.
Backlinks is one aspect which ofcourse if important but the site content is most important. Uniqueness adds to the weight of your site. Even if you buy 3 PR6 baclinks and 1PR7 backlink (with no more then 30 outbounded links) + some directories there is no guarantee that you may make it to top position. Old domain : 1 year old domain does not mean more weight. Well if it is on topic and 4/5 years old domain you might see a difference. I have had experiences where a 15 day old domain made it to page#1 on google. Its right here on this dat it is only 5 weeks old and you will find it on page #1 on google.
We can't really tell exactly the number of backlinks that you need to be on top of SERP. Google has many elements to consider in ranking a site. The quality of backlinks, relevancy of backlinks, number of backlinks, the content of your site and many more.
Hi, If your site is all written in a foreign language, and you want to rank for the English written search term "bookmakers" I think you will also need some English keywords in your content and tags.
It is nearly impossible to predict how you will rank by looking at links alone. You have to factor many things into figuring out the strength of each backlink and then you have to factor in onsite optimization. Let's not forget that certain sites are considered trusted by google like DMOZ. Predicting that you will be number one is essentially impossible.
