Fellow directory owners, would you accept a site or blog that was about Psychedelics? the reason for my question is because i know people dont accept viagra/cialis sites etc, well some do, but you know what i mean. But Psychedelics are a whole different thing, and so would you think its drug related and say no way, not in my directory, or would you be prepared to list it? Im not talking about a site selling, instead an Informational site, not MFA either of course. Bit of a weird question i know, but worth asking. thanks pipes
hmmm... honestly I would have to see the site first. Depends if it looked like a Grateful Dead advertisement or a more scientific approach. It would also depend on the content itself. I would have no problems listing most any Merk products (are you reading this? didn't think so , lol) It would just depend on how the site was put together for me.. What is the problem with Cialis type sites? I don't see a problem with this.. http://www.cialis.com/index.jsp LAnce
as far as i know they wont coz drugs are illegal. but some directorys even accept illegal/adult content.
hello... Is the site indexed and been around a while? Is the product or site Illegal in the eyes of the law? those are but the first few questions that would run threw my brain... thx malcolm
Partly the reason im asking is because the mention of Psychedelics usually for most people makes them think of hippies at woodstock out of their skulls, drugs, dancing Leprechauns etc. But the subject has more to it, Shamanism, the study of Ethnopharmacology looks into this subject, Tribal customs etc. Im curious if the majority of owners would instantly think of the former and delete quickly before noticing theres more to the subject. And also because its not one of those "not allowed" sites you usually see in submission guidelines.
I would probably accept it if it dealt with tribal customs , etc, if it was written more like a "scientific study" or national geographic type page. Not it if it was obviously slanted towards "everyone should take peyote". I am sure you can find similiar topics on national geographics site. and I would consider that a family friendly site. Again, content and presentation would dictate inclusion or exclusion to me. Lance
Hi Malcolm A good point regarding age, understandably regarding enough content etc. I guess in most countries in the western world (Except Amsterdam ) its seen as illegal, but that is the selling quite often. In the UK you can buy Cannabis seeds through the post legally, you can buy the lighting systems to grow it but you cant legally grow it. As you can see, the reason for my asking is through varying outlooks from different people regarding subjects and sites.
Absolutely, your totally right about the other things that would naturally need to be taken into consideration like the presentation as you mention, and overall quality.
Ok I can give you an example if you go to this page http://www.info4healthylife.com/ and check out the different links you will see I do advertise different drugs and what not I look at the site and the presentation of it if it doesn't fit or uses alot of ads then I don't list it if it looks to be illegal forget it its not being listed
Absolutely, totally understandable, as i expect, the site would firstly be treated as others should be with regards to quality, content etc.
I don't see a problem with that site. Eastern medicine, Addiction recovery, mental health... sure I would approve it.. Looks fine to me.. it's not like it is saying "Hey Kids... dropping acid is cool!" Lance
Uhhh.. even if it did say dropping acid is cool, is that reason enough to not accept it? Are you trying to provide more than one point of view, or are you limiting users to your own set of morals? If I submitted a site that was pro-communism, or took an opposing view (opposes whichever way you happen to think) on abortion, would that pass your subjectivity test? It's a slippery slope when you start playing internet police.
it depends on which of my directories you submitted to I would take the abortion or pro communism as they are legal (as they are someones opinions not neccessarily mine, in fact I belong to a forum that has a subforum called truthseekers and its one controversial section )dropping acid isn't so I would not except
It is for me, simply because I advertise family - friendly. Don't assume you know anything about my personal morality. And yes, I would accept a tasteful abortion or pro-communism site. You probably should read the rest of my analysis and not just one post in this thread before you accuse me of starting, supporting or contributing to a slippery slope to fascism. Lance
whatever - illegal or not - I do not accept websites like mentioned. Just rejected 3 today. If directory is still well indexed - just think what can give search results. I can bet most used search keyword in your directory will be viagra, ciallis, etc. If using Adsense - it's one of reasons you can be warned or banned from AS program. I did additional filter (also installed for few of my friends) for search results. Have list of illegal keywords that will return 'directory search' keyword if entered something illegal from the list for search. Additionally message is diplayed of illegal search query.
Nothing wrong with the Grateful Dead...and they have a terrific website. Most Viagra & related sites are selling counterfeit prescription drugs - not the real thing. I don't have a problem with sites about psychedelics. But it just depends on the website. And it's unrelated to my directory's topic, so no, I wouldn't approve it. But if it were relevant & the site was of very good quality I may include it. best, Denise
