Aviva Alive Big Web Links ewebpages Directory Dump Elegant Directory Google has delisted these directories, they don't even rank for their names... supposedly there are 55 more, but no one has posted the links to them. more info: http://sphinn.com/story/4415
Search on those directories and check. They are not banned only penalties were applied. Hope Google will change them back! Don't think you are going to be penalized as well, just because you are listed on those sites. -- You may not pay for a new link until the issue is sorted out.
Text-Link-Ads has also been removed from all SERPs including their own name! I wonder if people using Text-Link-Ads will be penalized as well.
I think the thing is with a few of these directories that they recieve so much traffic that people keep advertising on them, even if the search engine benefit is nil.
If you haven't submitted your site on those directories it certainly won't be submitted. They like the money and don't work for the red cross certainly, hence the penalization.
What an irresponsible post. I am still amazed at how quickly so many people are jumping to conclusions when we don't *know* anything yet. We do, however, know that the sites are not banned.
One thing we do know is that a flood of directory owners have headed over to the "sites" forum and they're all putting their directories up for sale. LOL
Rather Sad how you promoted and helped many here yet they try knocking you in the nutz at the first signs of trouble... Ive already noticed yours climbing back though lol let them... none off ours will ever be sold thx malcolm
I'm glad someone with some sense showed up in here and spoke their mind. Thanks Chris, I agree, 100%!
what a Muppet the OP is i believe this is just a temporary Google glitch and everything will return to normal soon
people easy to make some speculation and jump to conclusion. they are not banned or delisted. (losing serp and indexed inner pages is quite normal) I even doubt the penalty word (but many posts try to convince that), who knows Google is doing...
Sorry to say its not. If I had a directory that was penalized, I would simple do what yahoo does, charge for the review without a guarentee of acceptance and submit a reinclusion request explaning the changes
IMHO its just the same old google dance and the directories will come back better and stronger as the song goes with a rewrite
Yes im starting to agree with many points and make a suggestion that... 1. dont chase Pr ... thats a given 2. remove sitewides and make home page advertising for a selected few. you can still offer "sponcered catagories" darges mod as the relevence is still thier and its not manipulating googles PR (sitewides) which is part of what "matt" was saying in his "paid links" comments about using "no follow". hence thiers no need to use no follow if thiers "no sitewides" 3. revise your guildlines that basically, paid reviews dont mean inclusion under any circumstances... much like yahoo and botw. (on this note it saddens me that i have to go this route but i see no other way at this time) We have already started rethinking where we havent gone wrong YET and planning for our directories future as many off you should also. NOTE: this is a suggestion only to keep with uniformity of googles guildlines.. You all have options... You choose what you want to do.. thx malcolm
