Greetings, My name is Travis Walters. I have been developing a real-estate website and my client wants to rank high in the search engines. Thus, I started creating a sitemap using the sitemap protocol: http://www.realestate-holland.com/siteMapIndex.cfm The link above is actually a site map index containing several links to site map files. In the siteMapMain.cfm file, I have the priority set higher than other files throughout the website. However, google does not seem to be indexing them. Why is this? Is there anything I can do to improve my site map? Thanks in advance. Sincerely, Travis Walters admin@codebuyers.com
Hello again, Thanks for the prompt response. I have already tried that generator. There are too many links (close to 14000) on my clients website for that generator. Right now, we have something that is dynamically generated using Coldfusion. I just thought having the priority higher would mean that the main pages would get indexed before the multiple detail pages. Thanks again. Sincerely, Travis Walters
I always used www.auditmypc.com/free-sitemap-generator.asp. No limit on pages and very fast. One can export sitemap xml and html files. I would highly recommend this site.
how about this link. by the way when you create sitemap it is now a universal sitemap meaning, it can be submitted to all 3 SEs (google, yahoo and msn).
If you want your sitemap to be indexed by google make sure you submit it to them with the google webmaster tools panel.
