Quantity or Quality?

Quantity or Quality, in terms of Websites and monetizing through PPC only.

In your opinion, would you make more money from hundreds of small ad-infested websites. OR 2-3 Great Content websites.

    Consider the following:
    Webmaster #1 :
    - Owns 100 websites from various niches
    - Achieves 10,000 unique visitors per day COMBINED.

    Webmaster #2 :
    - Owns 1 Website.
    - Achieves 10,000 unique visitors per day.

Of course there are several variables that could influence the amount of money you make from PPC, but strictly speaking, which Webmaster would generate more revenue?

i would rather have one website with 10k visitors,
    it's easier to control,

    but one CORE website,
with other sub websites linking back to the CORE website with various niches,

now thats somthing to think about

I agree, one master website with hundreds of smaller websites linking to it gives the best results

One website would be easier but there is no certainty in the www. Develope many websites in areas you are interested in, promote them, and see what happens.

Having one site will earn you more than 100. Simple fact!

Here is your 100 sites and what you have to do:

    1. You have to design each one
    2. You have to advertise each one
    3. You have to monetize each one
    4. If you find that something works better when it comes to monetizing, you have to then edit each of your 100 sites.
    5. Your site may get outdated quickly or hardly be updated and your visitors will notice this and will not come back = loss of returning traffic.
    6. Etc...

Now if you had one site, all of the time working and advertising the 1 hundred sites could be spent on that one site. This means you will have more time to do SEO, Monetizing the site (finding ways to earn more from that one site), learning how your visitors use your website and give back what they want, producing a good designed site, updating the content regularly, building up your serps really good because it's easier to get more backlinks to one site than 100 of them due to the time factor, etc....

Really depends on your motives :

    Situation (1)
Would require a lot of work and may have more overheads, financial and upkeeping. However if number 1 consisted of 100 PR4 sites then there's plenty of benefits to be obtained.

    Situation (2)
Is easy to manage (generally speaking), may require a better server / dedicated, may not neccessarily be cheaper as server may require additional extras to handle all the traffic.

The first however may spand a lot of various topics which may alter the rate of ad's worth depending on the topics.

The second may be associated with just the one or two ad networks and be limited to the banners and ad's shown, hence the same ad's/banners on all pages.

Really tough question to answer, especially with so many variables.

One site with 10000 is the one I would choose. If 10000 people are going to it then you have found a nice area and you should try and use that to your advantage!
