Ok... here is my contribution to your venture... First off... go .in for your domains. Second... the sites.... Classified/Social Networking/Dating/Arcade/All around good time sites, localized for each city. You can get scripts to do each one of these pieces on autopilot. Have your designers make a connection page or "home page" to link all the different avenues of your massive sites. This type of site would bring back visitors over and over again. YOu can also give them the opportunity to have their own email address with their city domain name. The email address in itself will bring people back over and over again. When you do this, you can put your own advertisements in the signature line of every email that is sent from that domain. Right there you will have 100 massive websites that will bring large amounts of repeat traffic AND have many ways to sell advertising for revenue. It sounds like a lot of work, but once all the scripts are installed and running, it is very easy to tie them all together. Good luck with your venture!!! Mack

Why not use the same idea as Kijiji.ca ? Local classified ads for each city. So you have local unique content for each city.
Hey Sam, I would suggest the following 1. Create a network of Mods/Admin for sites 2. Create a miniportal with Dir/Forum/Socialnetworking 3. Let the mods/admins bring in the business and reward them with commision of their sales 4. The portal content could be Rssfeed which can be replicated in all the sites 5. Alternatly use WPmassinstall to create mulktiple Blogslike subdomains for the main domain (eg. indiaportal.com and delhi.indiaportal.com) 6. i would suggest to go for a .com than .in for better SE exposure
I will suggest to go with .com instead of .in(According to my experience indian peoples like .com more than .in) You should start Dating or Friendship related site(I will say you must start at least one), Arcade site, TV Shows or Bollywood related sites, Shayries or Funny thing related sites, Classified sites, Local Search Sites,Real Estate Sites, Few Educational sites, and few forums too.

A Main VB forum installed centrally having all cities as sub forum 2. Local Classified Ads (suggest Software) 3. Local Search Engine (suggest Software) 4. Local Social Networking (installed demo at www.healthatcontrol.com) with connection to all or suggest some other software 5. local Email Service ( suggest service) 6. about .com, We agree that .com makes more sense.. but we will not be able to get all .com domains similar for all cities..; most of them will be booked. However .in has less competetion and we are able to get most of them for all cities. (price is double) waiting for your suggestions. Sam, If you are looking at services which are paid then 1. Directory script = PhpLD (Option 2 if you are looking at multiple dirs then go for an esyndicat Dir unlimited license) 2. Forum start with Free SMF and on getting revenue migrate to VB 3. Portal scripts use joomla or free CMS scripts
Why we need CMS.. We are not able to update content..Just we can do is moderate.. that too is too tough to manage. if to use social networking.. we installed a demo at www.healthatcontrol.com, it have blogs, classified and lot $50 for Brilliant Guy, Who give an excellent Solution to the problem. User must feel everything is usable.. .his own ... local sense... and user created content. secondly... We must be able to manage the sites very easily... Lets say if social networking ... we will have common platform to manage.. so 1-3 guys to approve profile and to moderate content. if install buy/sell or directories..(buy/sell is better than directories...what you think ? and suggest software What we can do is also, to use one buy/sell platform.. and when user from A city login from homepage.. they are redirected to search results from his her city ? Same with social networking. or open for suggestions. user must have a single userid... is not it? A city Blog will do next thing. Help us to manage the things... and $50 is not the upper limit... If you need such a brand new work to be done, make a clear proposal of what you really expect. Then as a person handling your work if I were to do so, I can tell you or some one else can tell you what can be done, how long will it take and how much it will cost you. With no idea on what to do, you just started this thread asking people what to do and you are asking me a demo. Do you the cost of VBulletien? + the work that got to be done to script a powerful classified script with a built in search engine and give a good looking design with a logo? You asking for a DEMO? for you to taste and throw away? I dont own VB nor I cant give you demo on how I plug VB with my script. Please STOP this non-sense blind jump to a new business wasting our time. Be serious with what you need to do, we can do our best to help you. Your $1 is nothing today. Atleast 1K got to be done every single day even if it were week ends not working. OR its useless doing this business. Do not count income from adsence or some others. I would say a min of 2K USD must be every day from an online business or dump that business to bin and think of something else. All people in this forum dont know the exact demand is in other countries. For example, In UK real estate sites are doing good but not in most asian countries. I found a matrimonial site in India doing very good but not in UK or US or canada or aus. Only dating sites make the most. So there are chances for you getting misled more, asking for a business targetting a particular region. Better do a local poll or sit and work yourself and come back with well shaped idea, we can do our maximum. I never did such free consulting wasting my time writing so much like a small article.
