recently (this week) I loose 90% of my average visitor daily. this is a big drop... I just wondering, is it because I apply TLA on my website? any of you have the same problem? I mean your site that apply TLA also loosing your visitor? or it just some change in serps? please give me some advice
The best advice is to just create content as usual, promote as usual. 99% of the time the traffic returns. I occasionally go through drops. The last one was relating to 5 hours of downtime while google was crawling. A week later traffic is back to normal. Go to www.google.com/webmasters , signup if you havent got an account or sign in if you have. Verify your site and take a look at the errors and problems that google has spotted.
i had bought some tla from site. And my google hits decreases to zero. i think google bans who uses tla.--my opinion-- And one another point which supports my opinion is tla begins to use tinyurl.so if google dont act bad to tla why they use tinyurl. They hide their links..
Nothing to do with t-l-a probably since some of us see this kind of behavior on sites that has nothing to do with t-l-a ... either bought or sold !
It "might" be that Goog now considers TLA to be a "bad neighbourhood" - and you know what happens if you link out to bad 'hoods? Might be wrong though
I'm also going to say that it's possible Google is cherry-picking the sites using TLA in their index. They've already made the claim that TLA is a form of PR manipulation. I think that's more of a flaw in Google's system, but I'd really like to see someone try to challenge Google on this issue. I'm not so sure that they're "doing no evil" anymore.
TLA may be PR manipulation in Google's opinion, but that is the nature of their algorithm, and it isn't like TLA is breaking the law or anything. If Google doesn't like it, they should find a way to fix it on their side. May be a stupid question, but I haven't been able to figure out how Google could ever tell if you were using the TLA wordpress plugin for in-post links. Am I right? That should be transparent to them.
Hello, 1- Did you make a big change in your site? 2- Did you earn backlinks very fast? 3- Maybe time ago you did a linkexchange with a strong site and they get rid your site... 4- Did you have a sidewide link in another website, and then they get rid the site?
They definitely are, right on their FAQ page, first question - it says -- Thats pretty much exactly what google said they were going to devalue, paid links trying to manipulate link popularity and the organic search ranks.
site I used T L A on dropped like a rock out of google. kept T L A for 2 months, traffic nowhere to be seen from goolgle. As soon as I removed T LA, my traffic came back. Too much of a coincidence for me.
I agree - I have seen this as well, But I think its more about what TYPE of links are being shown BY TLA ads, Some people just accept any link cause they want the money and then wind up with 10 NON RELATED links..... That may be the issue
Right, they said they were going to, but how can they distinguish between a natural link and a paid link if the link is generated on the host side by a wordpress plugin before the page is rendered? That was my original question. Add to that the fact that the links within blog posts actually are context relevant (that's why they were purchased in the first place), and I don't see how Google could distinguish between paid and natural links without having access to either TLA's backend or the backend of the site's domain. How can Google know that TLA is involved in a link?
the links on my site were all very relevant to my niche. as far as how can google tell? perhaps there is a consistent way the links are presented that gives them away. just a guess.
Maybe the BOT looks for the xml file on the server Remember guys this is GOOGLE, thats there #1 job to get info There is nothing stopping them to see if that TLA xml file is there
But if you are using in-post links with TLA's wordpress plugin, there's just a .php file in you plugins directory, no .xml in the root, right? Robots.txt can solve the crawl problem. Not trying to be devil's advocate here...I've really wondered for a while how Google could ever determine you were using TLA in this scenario. I may not be smart enough to work at Google, but it's pretty obvious that this is a difficult problem to solve, and I don't see a way around it.
Maybe I dreamt it but didn't Matt Cutts recently say that those that bought links to improve SERPs would be the ones penalised, as the purchased links would be worthless, if they were able to detect them? I think detecting TLA links would be easy wouldn't it?
Perhaps try this either side of your TLA: <h1>I dont buy or sell links - honest </h1> Bound to work every time
